The reality is if Edin is staying he will be the number 2. He will get plenty of games. What we need is a young up and coming striker as the number 3. If the rumours are true that Pelle likes Guidetti then I imagine it is highly unlikely we will be signing another striker.

However if Edin is fed up with his no 2 status then maybe he's off. In which case we would need someone experienced like Negredo to take his place. We then look a bit light if Kun is injured.

If we do buy a wide left player who can score then that would be very useful.

Then he would be stupid.

Guidetti hasn't kicked a ball in decent level football for a year & has no experience of the Premier League at all. To expect him to possibly lead the line in several key games at both Premier League & Champions League level, simply because we happen to have a couple of players with minor injuries at the same time, would be suicidally stupid & frankly, sackable.

Bang on...this blind Guidetti faith is getting tedious

this, he needs a chance but people are assuming he will be good enough straight away

Actually, Guidetti has more experience of the Premier League than Cavani, Negredo, Villa, Higuian, Benzema and Ibrahimovic combined.

Are you certain about that ??? I though JG only involvement with any sort of first team appearances was in a League Cup game and has never actually played in the PL.No doubt someone will show me the error of my post. ;)

How can none be more than anything?

He is an employee of a Premier league club and thus will have more knowledge of the Prem, it's officials, teams staff and styles. Hell, he will probably have played against more prem players in reserve fixtures etc.

It's a crap argument but so is saying a foreign player is better because of Guidetti's lack of prem experience.

;o)

100% a striker will come in, Guidetti likely out on loan on Jan. Let him get fit with us and Pellegrini assess him.

Negredo would be a fine signing, proven goal scorer and a good hard working pro by all accounts. Not a superstar name but by all accounts that's what Pellegrini does. Make a team of players collectively better than individuals.

Last season Malaga were seconds away from the semis of the CL with people like Baptista, Roque and Demichellis etc. No star names or big money buys just a squad cobbled together really and it out performed teams with much larger budgets and much bigger names!

Do not rate him. For one, he is not quick enough, for two he hasn't got a good first touch and for three he is not fit to lace Tevez's boots. We need to be buying better players than Negredo.

Tell me what Negredo has over a player like Benteke?

Benteke pisses all over him and so does Higuain who could be bought for around 25m.

Alvaro Negredo... NO thanks. Leave him to West Ham and Tottenham, not for us!

Negredo scored more last season (31) in all completions than: Gomez (19), Tevez (17), Soldado (30), Benteke (23) and Higuain (19). He scored more than twice the amount Jovetic did (13) and only 7 less than Cavani.

Now I'm not saying Negredo is better than all these players but he has a proven record of scoring goals.

That's a pretty comprehensive answer....

Much more sensible transfer than the cavani saga which by all accounts we've pulled out of

The Spanish inquisition has begun
