All these strikers we appear to be interested in, for me, seem second string. Why bother we should go with what we've got. All starting to smack of desperation. Will someone tell me why this guy is any better than Higuain

He isn't, but he is cheaper, has played with Navas and isn't off to Arsenal

he isn't better than Higuain, just like Higuain isn't better than Gomez IMO.

Sorry mate but that isn't a reason to buy him.

Most of the strikers we're being linked with are over 27, experienced, quite tall and quite physical. Seems to me like Dzeko and the new signing will fight it out to partner Aguero when we play two up top. The club has gone from trying to seriously upgrade the forward line (RVP, Cavani) to banking on Aguero and Dzeko to score more plus a prolific experienced striker who isn't considered among the best.

Fred (the Brazilian) is the latest to be linked...

We've got Gudetti, isn't it time to give him a go. What's the point in keeping him if he's never given a chance. From all the chatter about Gomez he seems to be a tap in specialists, well with our creative midfielders why wouldn't Gudetti be equally good.

But we are looking for a replacement striker after Tevez left, realistically that would mean we are looking for a striker who can fight it out with dzeko to become our second choice.
