“City in crisis”

back in 2017/18 we lost on the Wednesday in CL QF at Liverpool, lost at home to Utd on the Saturday then lost home to Liverpool on the Tuesday, some people wrote us off and thought we could bottle the lead , we responded and followed that by winning away on Saturday at Spurs and finishing the season with 100 points, not saying we are going to be Centurions again but point i'm making is good team and proven winners do respond

Last night's and this season team generally compares like a tribute act to those City teams you refer to - listed before. These are the players from those two losses and to compare them, their abilities and achievements - and which we know what they were - is a tiny bit preposterous. Those were the days we easily controlled the games having ~70% possession, creating chances and the most importantly letting teams having 1-2 chances a game from a counterattacks or some random shot from outside the box. That Liv side, probably the best counterattacking side ever, had total of 9 shots at home and 5 at our place. These days, it started last season when we started losing control in games, any team home and away can have easily 10 shots and more. And the most importantly, there is no a single football tactical feature that those City teams have in common with todays one. Pep just abandoned them completely, he started doing with Haaland first season, you could see them becoming the feature of our game last season and it has become the only way we play this season. Just my observation, don't want to go into reasons.

No ones suggesting that you won’t be here “for the long run” but the evidence is on this forum that a significant of amount of time and energy including several thousand postings show that the charges are something that most do indeed give a fuck about. If they didn’t then sorry there would be something wrong.
In any form of business and indeed life in general uncertainty is a distraction and if you genuinely believe that the IC , the charges and the APT arbitration haven’t impacted then sorry we are going to have to agree to disagree
If we get relegated that constitutes a crisis...this doesn't

We played well the first half, should/could have scored more. But the minute a team gets aggressive with us, we lose it. We have a squad that has alot of injuries. Not helping us at all and the some of the ones on the pitch are out of form. I hope Pep tells them all to sack the internationals off and bugger off on holiday or something.

ok we have lost 3 in a row but seriously has it caused that much damage? Spurs a guess a lot of people will feel like myself as getting knocked out of the cup was a good thing due to volume of games, Bournemouth was disappointing but apart from Liverpool all others dropped points and last night yes we should have been 3 or 4 up and ended up losing but we probably only need 3 or 4 more points to qualify for the playoff round at minimum so no need to panic and we normally have spells like this and rather it be now and not the next 3 games
Its not caused too much damage YET. But 3 losses in a row now doesn't mean we can't drop more points the next three games or after if performances stay the same, especially given the level of opposition we face.

Just on the subject of this thread, the main ones calling it a crisis are our own fans
Most pundits that I've listened to are saying that its simply a blip and that we're the team to beat and will still win the league. Fans from rival clubs are saying the same to me
I wish i'd their confidence.

Too much hysteria from some who really should know better.

We have loads of injuries to key players. We've got to ride this out.

Count yourself lucky and don’t be tempted to go looking for a re-run. Second half was the most inept, lazy, turgid, gutless, incompetent, slow, brain dead, pathetic surrender since the pre-takeover debacle at Boro.
Simpson-Pusey gets a let off cos he was a kid making his full debut and Foden did enough first half to earn a free pass as well, but the rest of them were utter dog wank. If I’d had a ray gun with a 2000 mile range, I’d have executed Savinho, Gvardiol, Akanji, Nunes and Haaland and, in the case of Savinho and Gvardiol, revived them and then executed them again.

Apart from that though…..
Ha, not much happened then lol

In Pep's era, when?
In Pep's era, when?
I think it was the 21/22 season. Going into the last six games of the season tied with Liverpool at the top of the league. We lost the champions league and fa cup semis. Virtually the whole of our defence was injured, KDB was out and I know there were others but I can’t remember exactly who. We still went on to win the league. What is happening now is almost identical but the difference is a couple of the players who were out injured then are clearly past their best now.

I think we’ll turn it around but we have to be realistic. The squad needs a major refresh.

Utd are a club in a Crisis, City are on a bad run of form and missing some key players , maybe regressing to the means after unbelievable unbeaten run. It happens every now and then and seems to be followed by a winning streak. Usually happens around Xmas so a little bit earlier this time. 2 cup games not a huge deal, and a league loss against a decent Bournemouth team.
What have you seen to suggest another winning streak this time? Performances have dropped off arguably the most they ever have under pep. I don't recall players previously coming out saying that we are in a dark place.
