“City in crisis”

Was going to write a long post but I'll basically be saying what Millsy said with more swearing. Though I wouldn't blame Pep much for recent team selections it's more a case of him picking who he has to due to injuries and fitness. Although McAtee has been poorly treated imo.
I think the injury situation is far worse than we are led to believe. Players recovery taking far longer than initially thought. Players being selected whilst still not right. Pep alluded to this a couple of weeks ago, when he talked about players having to play through the pain barrier. Akanji, Walker, Stones look nowhere near it. Gundogan is a sorry shadow of his former self, but is having to play every game, when he was probably expecting to be a rotational player.

How else do you explain KDB and Grealish not being brought on until so late, once the game has gone? It was obvious they were needed at HT. Pep knows they are not fit and is trying to manage them back to fitness. Kev actually did quite well in his time on the pitch. These injuries are killing us. Though what the issue with McAtee is, only Pep knows.

We’ve been in decline for 18 months. We are so far off the entertaining and free looking football that we, and other football fans adored. Our recruitment policy has been abysmal. Remove Haaland from this and what was our last signing that genuinely made us excited, and be the other top 4 were envious of? We need a massive overhaul and bring through the fresh blood of our youth team, coupled with the addition of high quality proved players.
Do you think it was a mistake continuing with Pep, and who will eventually succeed him? Thinking De Zerbi or Luis Enrique myself. Maybe Hansi Flick?

Praps McAtee just ain't cracking it in training.

If he was blitzing it he'd force his way in and show whether he's good enough !!
It’s the typical situation of looking at who isn’t playing and using that as an excuse.

Mcatee should have had an opportunity but let’s be realistic, he wouldn’t have made a huge difference.

The current problems can’t be fixed with the players we have available. All down to Txiki dropping bollocks all over the shop since we won the treble.

There is going to be some serious questions asked at Xmas - as can easily see us losing another 4 games during December and really struggling to keep pace with the top 6.

Personally I dont think it is all down to the players, our style of play is shite and has been worked out. Teams know that they need to sit deep and hit us on the break, we spend 70% of our possession passing the ball back and forth across the box, its become predictable and boring as fuck. We need a change of system
