“City Matters” fan committee

I know Simon better than most, and certainly better than you. He's an absolute gent and that remark shows you up as the dick my friend. He's got more integrity in his toenail.
You are one smug individual, you dont know me and you never will. Your definition of integrity seems to be selling City fans and our good name down the river, as well as going behind the backs of his fellow committee mates. Oh yes he most certainly is very full of the finest integrity.

Nah. He could have seen this coming and said no. Or he could have experienced it and said don't bring me into it. Or he could have said send that and I quit. I assume he is an experienced individual. It's poor.

Presumably he thinks it is all OK, in which case he is doing a poor job representing the fans on this issue imo.

The executives presumably think they are doing right. Fans representatives need to put the fans point of view forcibly to the management to get them to understand. Otherwise, what's the point?

All that was needed was messaging to City fans from the City executives stating what isn't acceptable at the Etihad. Chants about the Sun, more specifically about Hillsborough, cause distress to some Liverpool fans and so are out of order. Bans will be handed out.

Done. No drama. Everyone would agree with that and be on board. What the fuck is the rest of the messaging in that e-mail about?
Fair comment

I think it’s acceptable to be more than happy with 95% of what the higher ups have done for our club but still be able to call them out when we think they have dropped the ball.
Sadly, the few things that they don’t get right tend to concern the most important aspect of any club - the fan base.
That is also fair comment

For those of us who have no idea how these things work, why would Sam Lee be involved in suggesting meetings ? I thought he was a journalist for the Athletic ? Does he have influence at Manchester City - is he in close contact with supporters' groups ? The meeting you refer to - was that between City's board and City Matters ? I'm just keen to understand more about the backdrop to this sequence of events.
That is the most baffling aspect. Why we allowed a bad faith Brummie rag who works for a Scouse-sympathetic shiterag owned by Americans to have any sort of say in how City speaks internally to its fans is baffling
He’s probably got a semi-on reading this thread and the trouble he has caused
Biggest mis-step since the Glazer ESL statement on our own website

Come on chaps, the name calling etc is getting a bit silly, the Sam Lee stuff is a fair question though, why the Hell are we letting him dictate matters? It’s almost like someone doesn’t want to put their name to something. As for the City rep Simon, some of the comments have been a bit harsh to say the least, at worst he’s been a bit green, no need for the personal stuff, if he’s acted in self interest then fair enough, but I just don’t see it, give the guy a break he’s probably going through all manner of strife given the social media stuff, we’re better on ere than that, the subject has brought about some emotive responses (quite rightly) but the blue on blue, from some very good posters who I respect is not needed

What would I rather have? A team that is one of the best in the world that has facilities that are world class, that competes for every bloody competition that they enter, that has a world wide reach, is recognised in the industry as the best run football club in the world and continues to invest massively in the fabric of our wonderful club, or one that is managed by Stuart fucking Pearce.

City Matters do what they can and for me do a decent job and I blame the club hierarchy for putting this lad in a tricky position. With hindsight i'm sure he would tell them to fuck off next time but he doesn't deserve a pile on.
People like him and Colin give a great deal of time to try and better the situation for fans, most of whom would run a fucking mile from the responsibility.

Our owners are what our owners are. 98% fantastic 2% shite. I will mark this episode down in the 2% category and move on.

Some on here need to get over themselves. We need to look after our own behaviour, The Dippers are responsible for theirs. Two wrongs don't make a right so lets continue to take the moral high ground.

Agree. I think the club are more at fault than Simon who I don’t know at all. He has been manipulated by the club and name calling him doesn’t seem right.

What he and the club has done is to cut into the very fibre of what is best about our club and has been for decades, our support. To be party to cuddling up to a club that has bricked and besmirched us, hacked us, literally pissed on us, time and time again, is an absolute disgrace. Who does he think he is and who does he think he is speaking for?

It will become obvious to why Sam Lee is involved, when it is splashed all over the Athletic.
Self interest.
Whatever you think of the City Matters chairman, he cocked up and should resign.
