“City Matters” fan committee

Ok then I will ask , what measures are being implemented and what are the longer term changes to the points system please also will these changes be implemented across the board ? These questions are not directed at anyone in particular any of the reps can answer.
Yes I realise they can’t keep everyone happy but it would be nice to know what is being asked for in on our behalf.
Well loads of stuff has been put on here plus minutes have been posted .Why not just contact PB direct ?am sure he will explain anything you need to know

My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that they are discussing ways of ensuring the right people have the away tickets.
This is to be confirmed at the next meeting but at the moment we aren’t aware of what the restrictions are going to be or who they will apply to. Which is a sense of frustration that our reps could be agreeing with something the electorate don’t want.

Keep up the good work PB.

Remember, it"s impossible to please everyone.

In the short term we've asked for:
  • No more points given for away gzmes
  • A ballot involving 150 tickets for 18-25 year old ST holders
  • Limited random ID checks (100-200 people) at away venues
  • Scrapping Platinum
The club have agreed the first 3 in principle & are looking at the impact of scrapping Platinum as there's a revenue loss.

Longer term we're looking at revision of the points system in some way but nothing substantive has been discussed about that as yet and it'll not change before the 2020/21 season.

So we are going to have our free time invaded?

Will the ID checks be for everyone?

Marvellous isn’t it, we live in an age where football fans are already treated as second class citizens and now we have our ‘own’ reps limiting our free time at away games.
You work all week, look forward to an away game that you’ve paid for, including travel and a group of people decide you have to be herded and shepherded around because they can’t get a ticket for a game. Brilliant thinking as always, shit on the workers.
Corporate won’t be included, they can give their tickets to who they like.

There seems little point in buying an away ticket if you have no intention of going, hence point one seems to override the need for the third.

I am open minded on the ID checks and they certainly helped Blues on midnto lower points get Tom a Champs League away games. What has put a bit of a dampener on my bees is that I’ve chatted to rags who travel to all the aways games who still buy from touts. They say they even with the same checks it’s still worth taking the risk of buying from outside the Club as you still get in the game on the vast majority of occasions

Agreed what a load of bolloxs that is
The ones with the higher points who do all the aways believe it or not do all the homes
So how’s that gonna help anyone catch up
I’m up there so not really arsed personally but don’t see how the ones lower down are get anywhere

I’m hopeful that tickets will go to people who actually want to go if you remove the points from away games.
The whole business of ‘points whores’ comes about when people buy tickets to keep up their points even though they don’t go.
With the initiative there would be absolutely no need to buy a ticket unless you actually wanted to go. Therefore, logically, games should sell out to the people who want to go and not a band of people who just want the points.
Which is why I’m against the ID checks as I think they’re unnecessary as people won’t be buying tickets to boost points.

But I’m also against ID checks as I don’t see why I should have to spend my time queuing up because of someone else’s jealousy

I can't believe that anyone who claims to represent football fans of any description, would propose that they are subjected to ID checks. It is absolutely scandalous that the so called reps are proposing that someone can travel to, let's say Southampton, and then have to interrupt their time to have their ID checked. Even worse if it was a game with an inconvenient kick off time. All done so that people who haven't put in as much time and effort have more chance of a ticket.

I was just going to post this.

Was the ID check the clubs’s idea or did it come from the fans’ reps. If it’s the latter then do they really despise their own fans that much?

We should let point one run for a season and see what impact it has before inconveniencing the match goers.
