Yeah, a 40 year unbeaten home record in Europe sounds great....but it's actually only 25 games (which doesn't sound quite as good as 40 years), and I could count the number of decent teams they've played on one hand. The rest were against teams like Sliema Wanderers, Katowice, Servette, Jagiellonia Bialystok, Zimbu Chisinau.......alot of these teams are even less known than Aris are. I've never even heard of some of them before.

I know it is 25 matches and I know they have played some shit teams but they have also played some decent ones and haven't lost, it cuts both ways. You can completely ignore that if you like but knowing that they went unbeaten at home in their group against the likes of Leverkusen and Athletico Madrid but expecting us to go there and win and spitting dummies out when we don't is arrogant imo. It is not only being dismissive of Aris, it is being dismissive of the decent teams who have gone there and not won as well tbh. But then, look at the reaction of many to the defeat on Saturday to a freak goal at united who have dropped two points at home all season and are almost certainly going to win the league. All many could do on here was whinge on about anything and everything. High expectations are one thing but it has got fucking ridiculous and a bit embarrassing on here recently imo.

25 games is still impressive. I'd love City to have a run like that.

And why do you not mention Bayern Munich, Rosenburg, Red Star Belgrade, Braga, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma and Real Zaragoza in your list? Because it doesn't help your argument?

Well they didn't player Bayern at home, they only played away and got beat 6 nil....and I did say a handful of decent teams. OK, so 7 decent teams in 25 games (2 more than a handful). Yeah not bad, but judging from last nights performance I'm guessing it's because they parked the bus.

Hey, I'm not saying any kind of unbeaten run isn't impressive....but seriously, did you not expect to beat them ???

How dare we not beat Aris. In their group home games they only beat Rosenberg, plus last years competition winners Atletico and then Leverkusen 2nd in the Bundesliga above Bayen Munich.

Obviously some little team that we should automatically hammer away from home because we are Manchester City. Yeah of course.

I didn't like the performance particularly but if you'd told me yesterday morning we were going to draw nil nil, I wouldn't have been unduly upset. An away draw is fine and I am very confident we will go through.

I love Europa, playing teams we have never seen before, i only wish i could afford to go to the away games, its a learning process for the club and the fans

Fair enough, my research was a bit faulty there. I expected to beat them, thought we looked like we didn't particularly care that much, and were playing to not get beat. As were they. I imagined if we got a goal we'd get a couple more, but I'm not sure what I'm basing that on, perhaps only my emotions.

I dunno, the whole night was so frustrating. It was like we were the B-movie to the Big Show that was Milan v Spurs. Argh.

This is exactly the kind of mentality we have to lose if we ever want to win anything. The players, the management team, every one connected with the club needs to know that performances like that are ultimately going to cost us. Eventually doing 'just enough' will turn into 'just not enough'. Dress it up how you like we played like it was a training session.
