does anyone know what numbers we're looking at tonight. I reckon it'll probably be about 42-43k. Baring in mind napoli are only bringing 1800

I think it will sell out at the death the
Cue is always huge before ko in cup games people buying last minute plus I think touts will end up selling a few to Napoli fans

hmmm
That was pretty well full actually as their capacity at that time was 43k and a couple of thousand seats in the first couple of rows had to be kept free.

Fook me - any other post u want to shoot down? Rag.

Its the City-obsessed Republik of Mancunia guy (@R_o_M) spreading this on Twitter more than anyone. The plastics have retweeted it so much that it shows up as the top Tweet on #mcfc hashtag.

I'm sorry but 10,000 empty seats in our first ever Champions League game at home is embarrassing to say the least. So much for Manchester being blue!

What I don't get about this guy's posts is where he gets the time or the desire to join a city forum and pretend to be a blue when it's patently obvious that he isn't.

Why would anyone pretend to be a city fan? Or a united fan for that matter?
I don't like the rags who openly come on here to 'banter' and I'm not a huge fan when blue dippers or spuds do it either, but at least they are honest about it and don't pretend to be blues.

If he was a homophobe would he go on a gay pride forum and pretend to be gay? If he was a white supremacist would he go onto a forum pretending to be black or ethnic minority? (May be he is both and does both.)

There is something vaguely disturbing about what motivates him.

More disturbing are the ones who masqueraded as City fans on the Napoli board to try and incite violence.

They are obsessed with us and can't stop talking about us. They simply can't handle rivals especially ones who are actually from the city they claim to be from but really aren't.

When we overtake them soon, the bitterness will reach a whole new level and I can't wait.

the funny thing is, we have sold out pretty much both home games so far, and this champs league game hasn't even began yet so how the fuck do they know what the attendance will be?

which by the way is predicted to be very close if not sell out, these fuckers are so deluded it's untrue. it's definitely got to the stage where they are more obsessed with us.

chelsea didn't sell their home support out last night, arsenal won't when they're at home, the only reason these cunts sell out in the cups is because they automatically sell them cup tickets on top of the season tickets. my mate who's a rag season ticket holder says it's a disgrace and he feels he should get a choice.

it's coming to the point with him that if united make it through all the comps he'll be skint, he actually said if they go out the carling cup he'll be happy. so one of their biggest fans wants them to lose because if they win they will steal from him. brilliant. what a decent club they are.

Not forgetting the 23,368 against Wimbledon in the league in 1989, when Old Trafford held 48k.

Shows how glory based their support really was/is.

They came 2nd the year before under Fergie and were getting 46k early on until they fell out of contention towards the end of the season.

Only trying to save you from getting embarrassed by one of the 20 or so rags that might be clever enough to work that out for themselves Micky.

The interesting thing is, MUST took the Glazers to court over this and forced them to stop that for the Carling Cup.

So when they played Wolves in the CC last season there were less than 45k there. So that's 30,000 empty seats.

Honest question, you've been harping on morning, noon and night about these "empty" seats for over a week now, and you've started 2 extra threads on this same subject that has already got a 70 page thread running on it. Most people on here couldn't give a stuff about what some numpty on twatter posts, which has been clearly demonstrated in great detail on the existing 70 page thread. So what is the real reason for you constantly bringing up this subject over and over, what are you hoping to gain, and what is it about this non issue that has really got your goat?

Also, when people from rival clubs skim read message boards, and read this thread that you have kept going, well is it any wonder that some idiot on twatter has re-posted it?

Not having a go, but you're like a dog with a bone that won't let go.
