Yeah I hope nobody sings it, people obviously havent considered our german links.. Uwe Rosler, Bert Trautmen, Haaman, Immel

I'm proud of Uwe and Bert but Immel was shite and I don't think we should mention his name again.

i dunno, I dont really find this one that offensive. slightly lacking in imagination, but if you cant treat these things somewhat lightly 60 years after the event I think something has probably gone wrong.

World War II, or the Second World War (often abbreviated WWII or WW2), was a global military conflict which involved a majority of the world's nations, including all of the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. The war involved the mobilisation of over 100 million military personnel, making it the most widespread war in history.

In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their complete economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Over seventy million people, the majority of whom were civilians, were killed, making it the deadliest conflict in human history.

60 years or not, World War 2 shouldn't be treated lightly imo.

crikey old chap i know the history, but the point is it's our history, it affected our parents and grandparents, if we want to sing about it, i dont see why not. the serious study of the era belongs to the academic world, this is something else.

Why should the "serious study" only be confined to the academics or historians?

Apathy is a massive blight on society.
In historical terms, 60 years is nothing.

People who fought or lost loved ones in that conflict don't sing it down the Legion or a the cemotaph on Rememberance Sunday.
Why should City fans be singing it at a football match?
