I don't think it is about training . Its an instinct . It's Grealish's natural instinct to hold on to the ball . He is never going to be able to release it quickly on a consistent basis . Its not his game .

It's the same as trying to coach a striker to become a better finisher . You can't really do it .
The holding on to the ball at times isn’t such a problem if he then beats a couple of players but so far he’s rarely doing that. No doubt he’s a class act and will improve over time.

I know
He was ok today, good 1st half amd great awareness for Fodens goal....2nd half ran into trouble, couple of times running towards our goal holding onto the ball too long.
In the 2nd half, yes he held too long at times but clearly he was trying to retaken the pace of the game when Gündoğan was not very well in the game at that time - showing some potential as a midfielder.

3-0 ahead, referee not friendly, opposite aggressive, fullbacks both on the yellow and the squad was tired. Rather than chasing a 4th goal, it would be sensible to give the team some slow down to avoid injury. (Bringing on subs is a better idea)

Actually I was thinking that at that moment it would be an interesting experiment to move him to Gundogan's position at that moment as he showed more willing to retake the pace. Foden LW and Gundogan as a false 9.

I think his biggest problem is how much he cost. For me, he has settled in well. Doesn’t look remotely out of place in our side, and purely from a footballing aspect looks very much a City player. The problem is, for £100m you expect something extra special, and I am not sure he will ever be able to justify the amount we spent on him. Will he ever have the same output as KDB, Foden, or even Sterling at his peak? I am thinking unlikely.

To me, he looks like someone who in the long run is likely to have a similar output G/A wise to Bernie, which is fine as long as he performs well. I’m not sure you pay £100m for it though.

It's because his release clause said so, i'm sure City probably want somewhere around 80m. But Villa want even more than that, more than 100m. But we rather pay 100m for the release clause rather than negotiate with Villa.

He’s never going to be able to release it quickly?

Why ever not? He’s more than able to make a quick pass

Jamie Vardy loves your last sentence & why bother even training if you can’t improve?

I don't think his Girlfriend is complaining about that. ;-)

At this point u underwhelming for the transfer fee , bit suspect his time at city wont end as it has started. Plus it's not my money so I'm happy

£100m for someone like Bernie?

Every day of the week.
But you wouldn’t pay £100m for Bernies G/A output alone. You would pay £100m for his all-round game. If Grealish can match that, fantastic, but I don’t think he is that type of player.
