His best performance of the season.
Sorry pal.

I agree with a lot you say on this forum but put the crack pipe down please.

Apart from the goal, which was decent control and finish, he did fuck all.

Very much in the category of Ake, Zinchenko, Gundogan and Fernandinho.

All piss poor tonight but got away with it.

we won comfortably against a team that just defended. You can’t expect 3-0 wins every time

Took his goal really well, great to see him back. Another one in the onion bag on Sunday please Jack.

yhp.

Sterling has been dispossessed 42 times in 1,568 mins, once every 37.3 mins.
Jesus 20 times in 1,341 mins, once every 67.1 mins.
Mahrez 15 times in 1,028 mins, once every 68.5 mins.
Foden 22 times in 1,431 mins, once every 65 mins.
Grealish 19 times in 1,271 mins, once every 66.8 mins.
Bernardo 20 times in 2,231 mins, once every 111.5 mins.

So pretty much, whilst Raz has brought some goals and directness in recent months we turn over the ball twice as much with him in compared to any other forward which means the opposition gets a lot more opportunities to counter on us from him, which we've born witness to in recent times, less defensively secure and dropping points as a result.

That's where you take the big gamble with Raz that has backfired on us in big games before.
Also need to take the player playing position into account.

Grealish has the 1st highest "CPA" carrying into penalty box per 90 stats in PL which is 4.26. 3rd highest "touches in the penalty box per 90" behind Salah and Sterling. Arguably he played most in the toughest area and still managed to protect the ball so well. It is amazing.

TBH He did very well in moving the ball forward/defending contribution to help release the pressure under several difficult situation in the 1st half. He was quiet on the attacking side in the 1st half but most of the ball was on the right wing holding by Mahrez/Cancelo. Several good key passes but Zinny and Gundo did not put it in the net. Set up a good chance for Mahrez which could well be the 3rd goal. It is unfair to say he did not contribute apart from the goal.

That Bernardo stat, he is fucking brilliant, loses the ball once every one and a half games

As i predicted,he looks far more settled and might even have dropped a few pounds.

He had a fine game last night, and helped us tick.He and Phil bring good things.

It was nice to see him in an area of the pitch he likes, and given the ball. He was quality where many were still sluggish. His goal was pure class. We moan about packed defences, a long ball to a run in behind is still an option at times. He had so much to do but the touch and finish was beautiful.

Cancelo to Jesus first half was similarly effective but Gabby couldn't connect.

That ball over the top should be used more. The opposition don't expect it. But when 99% of the game is played in front of you at a leisurely pace it is easy to keep a shape. Forcing defenders to follow a false 9 deep then someone going behind will keep them guessing.

Class goal that.

Roy keane said before the game that 'it's about time jack grew up' (without making too much of a dig), so hopefully he takes that on board
