I think the sun must have been at the wrong angle yesterday and the lay lines not aligned. Poor lad has nothing going for him at the moment...
opposing fans should be greeted with warmth and respect .I pointed it out yesterday but he seems to have gotten away with it, no backlash forthcoming.
Or the Ian Bowyer. For some reason, and perhaps it is every fanbase, we have a selection who criticise players constantly and then find every reason to justify their criticism, ignoring when they have obviously played well, but jumping on every performance where they didn't shine. It is the only thing that I detest about being a City fan and it brings the terrace moaning to the home. As for Grealish, it is just preposterous to read some of the blind criticism of performances that simply have not been poor. The Richard Edgehill of this era.

Him as well.Richard Edghill.
Yes but they should be honest and not put Manchester City as team supported.opposing fans should be greeted with warmth and respect .
even this ****.
Joining the forum of another club and pretending to be a fan of that club is fuckIng weird behaviourYes but they should be honest and not put Manchester City as team supported.
Somebody else said to me the '1981' should have been a major clue and fair enough it makes sense with him banging on about Gazza.
Fucking spud.
tbh I find it weird that other fans want to come on here, even when they are honest about who they support lol.Joining the forum of another club and pretending to be a fan of that club is fuckIng weird behaviour
Care to explain the "you" and "your" references? If you had a proper nine like Harry Kane . Liverpool wouldn't be breathing down your necks.
And Glenda Hoddle too, what a whopperYes but they should be honest and not put Manchester City as team supported.

OK I will take a stab at this, but I am going to keep this short as I don't want to go into a detail explanation for which I need pictures and video to explain.
let us first discuss why Jack was bought, it was made clear from our tier 1 that our board wanted someone to fill the role of bernardo when he was threatening to leave and that txiki was in love with Jack because of his ability to keep and move with the ball. and in the first press conference when pep was asked what he liked most about Jack? what he said was that he liked his ability to slow down play and bring others into play.
next let us discuss what Jack was doing at villa he would usually take the position of a wide player when he is in the middle of the pitch away from the box and then the more he moves with the ball and carries the ball he will move to the center of the pitch when he is near the box and then lay of the ball or make a through pass on the run. In contrast when he plays for us he is put in a complete opposite position when he is staying high and wide like a traditional winger which was never his game so makes no sense.
what are his strengths? It was universally acknowledged his best attributes was carrying the ball into the box, making space for others and bringing them into the game and also being press resistant when the opponents tries to get the ball from him. ask yourself where this characteristics are used? it surely is in the center of the midfield.
what are his weakness? beating a man for pace or trickery and putting in accurate crosses for 5'7 players or having a leather striker instincts are not his game. for a forward player these skills are essentially and why the fuck is Jack playing there?
take last night as an example why the fuck not put Jack in LCM and move gundo to false 9 and foden to LW this will make better use of each other's skills. as someone else said the only reason I can think of is that pep does not trust his positioning and defensive movement and hence he is shoehorning him into the LW until he can learn. In short people need to stop asking him to play like sterling or mahrez when he is nothing like them and pep needs to stop putting him the forward line and making our attack weak. either put him in his correct position or leave him on the bench.
Not sure he can work as an inverted winger in our system with the numbers he gets, even mahrez in his first season with us got pretty decent numbers.Because for the umpteenth time. Grealish has never ever played central midfield. Last night he found himself in a common position to a LCM and lost the ball cheaply to a weak press and nearly cost us a goal.
He’s not a central midfielder.
That was the first time Jack lost the ball in a similar situation since August and what's more important, I think it was a foul.Because for the umpteenth time. Grealish has never ever played central midfield. Last night he found himself in a common position to a LCM and lost the ball cheaply to a weak press and nearly cost us a goal.
He’s not a central midfielder.

A long winded way of saying he's been shite so far, certainly gone out of your way to make excuses for him.In an interview he gave when he joined us, he said he saw himself as an 8 or 10 capable of playing on either wing and willing to give the false 9 a go. He also said he'd spoken in depth with Pep about positions, and he seemed positive about that so I'm guessing Pep didn't tell him he wasn't going to get a chance to play in his preferred position.
And a couple of years ago he was making it clear that he saw himself as a midfielder:

Jack Grealish's comments on preferred position cast doubt on Man Utd move
Some sources claim the Aston Villa star has his eye on a move to Old Trafford but the 24-year-old may not be able to play where he wants at Old Traffordwww.mirror.co.uk
And before we bought him there were numerous sources suggesting Guardiola wanted to rotate him with Gundogan:

This article makes an interesting argument for adapting him into a 6. I don't think I agree with the conclusion, but the analysis of his strengths is worth a read.

When Ole wanted him at united, the plan was apparently to make him a right-winger:

Transfermarkt stats show that for the 5 seasons before he joined us, he played multiple positions, but only in the past 2 seasons did he play more on the left than centrally (we also know that especially during those past two years, his role included a lot of freedom, including to drop deep and move infield).

Most of his time centrally was spent in an "attacking midfield" position which, giving how Villa tend to set up, would probably have included little defensive work.
And playing midfield for Villa (especially in the Championship, which some of these seasons were) is not the same as playing midfield for City. The roles of our twin 8s are quite specialised and require a detailed understanding of how the team plays and familiarity with the other players and the team's style.
But it's simply not true to say he's not a midfielder or has never played in the middle.
