I really want Jack to do well but he was really poor yesterday. Poor decision making and no end product. He is clearly low on confidence and scared to take the same risks our other creative players do.
He has been playing well for a while, especially against against the rags, but yesterday he seemed to revert to type a bit. Just need him to up his finished product. He definitely needs to be more direct and start having more shots, he never seems to back himself and have a shot. I don't think we can start saying that it's all Pep's fault because he his asking players to be more safe in their play. Pep has never struck me as that sort of coach.

no player should be judged as having a bad performance yesterday.

We played 10 against 11 for 70 minutes and still controlled the game.

No negativity needed.

He seems to be the only player in the team who people are perfectly fine with when he plays with no courage. If any of the rest of our front line over the last seven or eight years played like this then they'd be getting universally criticised.

For some reason, every time Jack fails to spot a runner or simply refuses to attempt an incisive pass, then it gets excused as him "controlling the game." Not for me. Playing in first gear the entire time isn't controlling a game. We have plenty of other players who actually do that because they have the ability to vary their tempo.

Part of me feels bad for him because he's better than he's shown for us so far but he's never been as good as some people claimed he is. There's an expectation around him and a bizarre cult like following which I don't really think is based on what he can do with a football.

That leads to all this prolonged back and forth where people are either overly critical of him or overzealous in their defence of him. But the bottom line is that when you strip away all the bullshit, he's just not a very effective or important player for us.

Kdb and silva seems to have a free role where as Grealish and foden when they come on are instructed to stay wide!?

I really want him to succeed but I just don’t see it, I know stats etc can show when he plays we win etc but watching yesterday his decision making is not there, he had a shot early on when a simple pass inside to KDB would’ve put him in, he’s not beating his man either. I know people will say he’s playing to Peps plan not losing ball etc, but I’m sure Pep is also saying have a go and when he does it’s not working. He was never worth £100 million and that’s not his fault, maybe if/when Bernie goes he may drop in the centre but I’d like to se him on the right if he can cross and feed Haaland, I feel if he doesn’t kick on next season we will try to move on, but his wages etc maybe no one can afford him.

Not bashing him after yesterday, but really need more out of him on a consistent basis. Need some assists and goals. All too often the play breaks down on the edge of the penalty area.

Don't judge him when it's 11vs10
Don't judge him by Goals and assists
Don't judge him when other players where off

Bar is really really low to judge jim

I disagree. He's easily been our best player all season.
