Philips once said in an interview 2 years ago about how Grealish always appeared in the right spot when you had problems to help you.Have seen the lad play for a quite a long time, whether it’s villa, england or city he improves every team he plays in with or without goals and assists.
We seen an example of that last year against United. Ran the show with no G+A to show for it. This year he got the goal and was probs our best player when he come on but ends up on the losing side and certain posters go missing again…
Gives 100 per cent every time he’s on the pitch.
IMO It would settle down the nerves of the backline under pressure. He can smell which teammate is nervous and what needs to be done. Take Ake for example. We all know Ake is not very good at passing on LB position. He is less shaky when Grealish on the wing together.
In this sense I feel that it is better to put him close to Rodri in the midfield if we have a lead to protect and it is the last 15-20minutes. Many times you can see our right hand side struggling to control the ball at the stage while Grealish could only watch from distance across the pitch but cannot help.
