thought jack played well last night! much better and more direct, more of the same please!
He did look proper pissed off but I wasn’t sure if he’d just picked up a knock tbh. When Sport Bible reported that he'd fallen out with Pep on the touchline a few matches ago, Jack rightly told them to go fuck themselves and consensus here was good for him, the media make up their own narratives and they should be called out for it.
A few matches later, he looks a bit gutted when he's substituted, and far too many here are looking for a dramatic narrative where there probably isn't one.
His first game back from injury, he almost certainly wasn't expecting to play the full match, and Pep probably discussed with him before the match and at half time the plan to take him off after an hour.
Maybe he was annoyed because he thought he could have contributed more. Maybe he was in pain with his ankle - he was straight to the bench, boot off and ice on. Either way, he looked more upset than angry to me, I thought Pep was trying to reassure him, and things are obviously okay between them as Pep was praising him after the match.
He's an emotional player, for good or bad, and Pep and the club know that, and if he's not happy he won't pretend to be. I don't see that that has to be a problem.
I agree with this. He's occasionally scored some pretty goals but he doesn't have a goalscorer's instinct. I think he can improve but at the same time, we didn't buy him with the thought he'd score a load.
Goals scored, assists, chances created for himself and others, control of the game, etc. I am aware he was only played in that cursed Pep's LW position and few times as a false nine. Listen, I like Jack both as a player and even as a character and I truly hope it works for him and for us, but reality is his contribution to our overall game and results has been negligible to the ones I mentioned. Just to say I am not trying to slag him off.I think that depends entirely on how you measure effectiveness and contribution to the team.
I love all those players and what they do for us but I think they all have different functions within the team, and Jack's is different again.

I'm quite happy he was sulking. I want the players to want to play. Like you point out, he didnt cause a scene or go full bellend, he was unhappy because he wants to play and let it show. No problem for me.There's also no harm in pointing out that he was sulking when he got hooked, because he was,and anybody defending that is blind, the camera panned in on him,but he held back of proper spitting the dummy as it dawned on him in that split second that it's Pep he's dealing with here, not Gareth fucking Southgate, who brings him on then brings him off.
Needs to improve Jacky boy,I've still got hope................
Ridiculous comparison. Yes Kev had a few poor shots last night. But in watching Jack for a whole season I honestly can't remember one decent effort from distance. He has other attributes sure but his shooting is not what you'd expect from a professional footballer.Kevin was clean through 1-on-1 and put it straight at the keeper. Players miss chances.
NEVER going to play 90 after coming back from injury.
