Seriously did you pay attention to Gundo today? We could have easily moved Bernie in and put Jack on.
Yes mate, I was watching Gundo a lot. I’m a massive fan of what he does, even if he has a ‘quiet’ game in a crowded hectic midfield. His ball control, awareness and composure in tight situations is light years ahead of Grealish, and as the game opened a bit in the second half he did some dangerous passes around their box.

Well that’s great but today he wasn’t at it in my humble and a switch would have been beneficial. Jack should be fuming he didn’t see the grass today.

Better to start Grealish and use Gundo as an impact sub TBH.

The only one who was playing poorly enough for him to replace was Cancelo, and Grealish is almost as shite in the 50/50 challenges as him.
wrong

Grealish is the best in terms of winning 50/50 ball in attacking players. He has a more~60% successful rate of winning ground duels. He is slow in pace but ground power certainly his strength.

Grealish and Bernado are the "tempo" setter. Bernado set the tempo from the back, Grealish from the attack. It is obvious now. Baffling why Pep did not start him.

We should buy a traditional left back to pair with him and give Cancelo more time on the right (given Walker health situation). Ake is not good enough to be a left back though he is very good center back.

Pep doesn’t trust him.

Doesn’t start him in huge games.

2-0 down to villa and he turns to Gundo and sterling instead.

Grealish or mahrez should have started today simple as - but it’s becoming evident pep doesn’t trust Jack and we spent £100m on him.
sad but true..

Mahrez hasn’t shown anything this season to suggest he should be starting in any game, never mind this one.

Grealish is the slightly disappointing one. While he certainly hasn’t ripped up any trees since he has been here, I think the majority felt that he had been on his best run of performances and the last thing he needed was to be benched. One step forward, two back.

Agreed - the mahrez point was more a case of him being a genuine wide player but I think Grealish certainly deserved his chance to start at anfield today.

He hasn’t played any minutes whatsoever in the 3 games we’ve dropped points in this season.

Played great in the Derby, attacked and kept the ball, drew defenders and fouls, probably his best game in a City shirt, his reward, a place on the bench, great for his confidence.

He was exactly what we needed today for Milner. That right side of their defence was there for the taking today and we didn’t even attempt to exploit it.

Grealish is so important to us now.

..and yet an article in the Telegraph goes into great detail quoting Pep on how he really rates him.
