Phil was the best player in our team consistently, even with KDB 18 months ago. Its dropped off since then. I think we all want Phil to get back to where he was - but you couldn't justify swapping him for grealish right now.
No, you don’t stop Grealish at the moment, he’s just started building something (despite me still thinking he doesn’t suit the wide forward position).

But Mahrez has played every game of late and struggled in the Spurs and Arsenal games to get anything going so I’d give Foden a start on the right at Forest if he’s fit enough.

Not worth gloating. Who comes on a forum to say they're right? Who comes on a forum to rub it in the faces of their fellow fans? As if to say - it's not important whether city win, it's whether I WAS RIGHT and YOU WERE WRONG about a player. Who looks through the thread and sits their smugly about how some people just don't know football as well as they do? Who'd do that............
I’m the last person who needs the validation of being proved right, I really am.

Rather than operator as a point scoring exercise, maybe some of us simply don’t like unwarranted attacks on one of our own when all they are simply doing is their best and whilst the best manager in the world is persevering with them.

The arrogance of people thinking they know better than Pep, when again and again players take twelve to eighteen months to adapt to his ways when they come here.

Some cunts never learn and deserve calling out on it. I’ve had nearly 50 years of dealing with, and responding to, the nastier element of our support when they get on our players backs to compensate for the wider deficiencies in their lives and I’m fucked if I’m going to stop now.

Top Interview from a top man himself.

Feels like it's your mates and less like professional football player in interview lol.

Yep. What's so refreshing about that interview is that he isn't afraid to say that he thought Arsenal were the better side. I'm not sure I've come across many - or any - footballers who would say that after a crucial win. A bit of praise for the opposition? Sure. But to outright come out with that is, like you say, akin to discussing the game with our mates when we've not got our blue-tinted specs on.

Bang on with that.

Oh, and I know you're not one to get angry often but I fucking love it when you do!

Agree. I always find his interviews to be honest and open. He generally drops in a few little tales of life behind the scenes as well. I quite liked that he referred to 'staying behind to practice shooting with Enzo'. I also remember his tale of him and Phil watching videos of Messi on you tube on the coach too.

still not sure if he would fare better as a lcm. happy for the lad notheless. would love to see more of the dribbling he did in our half at the other end though.

The Grealish Post Match Interview should also be a regular thing.

No nonsense, honest, passionate, and humorous - pure quality.
He’s not always polished and will say things that will get under the noses of some blues, but I think he’s fucking brilliant in the post match interviews. Give me Jack every time over emotionless robots giving 3 word answers!

If he can get a few more goals in the coming games then hopefully he'll get out of his own head when it comes to finishing chances. Sterling was the same but if you keep on getting in those positions then the goals will come.

Been my favourite player since the World Cup.

Arguably been our best player since the World Cup

The post-match interview he had with NBC/peacock last night was really interesting to hear about his mentality shift post-world cup. He spoke about how in his first season (and first half of this season) he simply wasn't training well. Not through lack of effort but just wasn't performing and his confidence was down - perhaps a victim of the pricetag on his shoulders. He said since hes come back from the world cup hes just felt so much better and positive and it shows in his performances. I think he will start to kick-on from here.

Think he has been excellent since world cup and is now 3rd name on team sheet after Erling and Kev for me. What I love most is the passion, the way he went towards the away end last night sums him up. Also so refreshing to hear a player talk honestly in post match interviews, the one with NBC was a great watch. A genuinely likeable chap now playing top draw football, affecting big important games and proving his critics (including me at one point) completely wrong.

Love to see this guys interviews after games, always wanting more from himself to bring to the team and always seems to give an unbiased view of the game from a players perspective, so glad to see him kicking on and starting to get the recognition he deserves.
