Another attribute to Jack's game is how well he reads the line.
He doesn't just blurt forward when he gets possession, he notices if we have enough players in attack, waits, then makes the appropriate/pass cross. It helps keep our attacks fluid and controlled, not haphazard.
Agreed

Played well, but to be a great winger, he's got to have end product otherwise he'll just end up like Ryan Giggs.

Mahrez could do the hold on to the ball stuff that Jack does, pass inside etc but was a serious goal threat.
Don't think it's something he's going to acquire either, at his age.
Mind you the brilliant David Silva used to frustrate the life out of me with his finishing.

He’s played 20 minutes in a month, he had a minor injury which ruled him out of the Community Shield.

How is it that hard to understand? Jesus Christ.
a guy who plays 70 minutes can't be "not remotely match fit", that's utter nonsense, he wasn't fully fit for 90 minutes sure but he was fit enough to play most of the game.

How can he be not match fit when he's had the summer off and a full pre season ?
There's a difference between fitness and match fitness.

You can spend weeks in the gym but still get tired in your first match after that because there's no training that replicates the strain of 90 competitive minutes.

Match fitness only comes from playing matches. It's not just physical stamina although that's definitely part of it, it's also rhythm and mental sharpness, the ability to continually respond to changing circumstances and instructions. It's why nobody ever looks at their absolute best on the first match back from any kind of significant absence.

He was outstanding in the first half. Faded a bit in the second, but that’s only to be expected given that it was his first start of the season. We’re pretty blessed with wide options when everyone’s fit.

Great to have him back. He needs a few games to get up to speed but he controls so much for us. Played well today

Of course, it's just that I've heard so many people here call players not fit with nothing to back it up, it annoys me.
