He'll only get better the more he plays there. I loved the roar of the crowd when he was subbed off - even though Kev and Doku had super games with goals and assists, it felt like Jack had finally arrived after three and a half years.

When we bought him the rumour was that the plan was to play him in the middle alongside Kev.

Can't believe we had to wait this long to see it, even though both are still coming back to form and fitness the vision is there.

It’s a shame it’s so late… it’s taken pep a running loss of 6 games to eventually try him there. I have no doubt if we continue to play him there we will see more and more improvements.

My biggest concern is no solid CDM behind them both, gundogan (and even kovacic) is fine for these type of games but we did concede chances and we will get punished against better sides. Rodri would have been perfect but alas… I hope we see someone come in Jan.

Thought he was exceptional tonight. He's just so good at taking the ball under pressure and not losing it, even in his own third he protects the ball brilliantly. Needed him on that kind of form tonight with others a bit more wasteful in possession. We need him in that kind of form especially in bigger games.

For me, it's a little frustrating that it's taken this long to put the lad in (what I would consider) his best position. Keep him there Pep.
