10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

You were the same clown writing off a kid who hasn't been given any chance, only for you to pretend like you never said those things about him after he had a stellar cameo yesterday. Before calling others out, maybe look in the mirror.
You can’t read as well as not make jokes.

Until yesterday, McAtee had never done anything to suggest he was better than anyone in our squad. He’s now beaten a man and passed the ball to start a move that ultimately ended in a goal.

Something that Grealish has done for years. When we won the CL, Grealish created more chances than any other player in the CL that season. Not for City. For any club.

Now McAtee has beaten a man, there’s huge clamour for him to start the next match. #Hyperbole.

Players are selected to start based on current form. Jack might have done that when we won the UCL but he hasn't done anything of note since then. If McAtee is the one in form and is hungry to prove a point then he starts, it's that simple. No player should ever be picked based on what they did a year or two years ago, it doesn't work like that.

Neither have any form, so that argument is a non-starter.

And that would show in the stats someway if it was true ! Anyway would love to see him back in the current team givewn its form / performances
It shows in the winning column.

Seems people can't distinguish between "he moves like Zidane" and "he is as good as Zidane". Hard to expect them to understand anything beyond "whats his G/A" if thats the case.

Go on then. Show me one from 2024 in a premier league game.

“But he wins free kicks”.

I don’t care he cost 100 million. We won a treble with him playing a key role so in a strange way he’s never a flop because of that spell of form.

But since then he’s done sweet fuck all and does not deserve a spot in our team even when fit.

I don't think they're giving him grief, they're ridiculing the notion that Grealish is in any way comparable to Zidane; which is assuredly ridiculous.

Interestingly, you said he doesn't play; and that's part of the problem. He's barely fit, and when he is he can't be trusted to contribute.
He compared the way they move and style of play. Whilst I don't agree to such an extent its only the Zidane was better numpties(no shit sherlock) that can claim the talking most bollocks prize.

City win all the time (are used to ) whether he plays or not ! To demonstrate what you suggest we would need a greater propensity to win when he plays than he doesn't - 30 times plus to be statistically significant with minimal other changes - failing that it is goal and assists for an attacking player where he is bang or below average. Would still rather he played in the current set up though !

The miserable twats who regularly criticise and attack Grealish simply do not need an excuse.

They veritably gloat in criticising him for anything and everything.

The comparison with Zidane was picked upon and run with, whilst I doubt it was seriously intended.

Anyway carry on justifying the posts of these miserable sods who profess to be supporters, if you want.

But every fucking time there is a lull in actuall football, along come the Grealish shit from the knowalls and attention seekers.
So when a player of our own is criticized it makes the critic a miserable twat? Every player thread over the last couple of months has attracted just criticism. I made a joke about the Grealish and Zidane comparison, ironic given that you said we can't joke with ourselves as a fanbase. Too many on here are sensitive when it comes to anyone within our club being criticized or questioned. There's not a single player over this run that hasn't warranted derision or ire. But with Jack it's not just this run, is it? It's well over 18 months of uninspiring performances.

I then went on to point out his regression as a player. He's barely produced since we won the treble; nearly two seasons ago. If you're happy to shrug your shoulders at that, crack on. But accept many want to see a lot more from a guy that cost the club £100 million.
