One thing we all know is Pep can be a stubborn sod and based on his press conference he is more than happy for players to go to their country if fit and in his mind Jack doesn't fall into that category. If I was Jack I would watch that conference and withdraw from England or else its quite likely even a fit Jack won't get a lot of game time for us if he pisses Pep off.

This eagerness to go in on Grealish by a certain section of our fan base doesn't sit well with me. Some people CAN'T WAIT to get on his case. Could it not be the case that he has been unfit (Carsley said groin injury, Pep said he'd be out for a couple of week originally anyway‍) and now thinks he's on the right side of it to go away with England to train and get a bit of football under his belt?

We all know how much not making the Euros squad affected him in the summer. He clearly doesn't want that door shut on him by missing another squad. Look at Rashford for example, he can't get back in.

The optics aren't the best but it's not like this hasn't happened before with other players. But because it's is Grealish a section of our fan base lose all perspective. On the flip side, Pep was fucking PISSED yesterday so it seems like there has been a breakdown in communication somewhere. Pep is well within his rights to expect Jack to pull out but take it up with the England manager as well who also should know better. Stop with the passive aggressiveness and speak to your player!!

I find it bizarre though that Grealish is getting the level of criticism when KDB has been back in training for weeks and is still not getting himself on the pitch. Where is the rabid criticism of him? Pep clearly has an issue there too but Jack is getting all of the flack.

A section of our fan base can't wait for him to fail. The silly unsubstantiated rumours of him being an alcoholic and the like this week have been embarrassing based on nothing more than preconceptions and conjecture. How about getting behind a player that makes the team better when he is in it?!

This has been blown out of proportion because of WHO it is, not because of WHAT it is! Doku/Savinho wouldn't be getting this would they, be honest!

If you read my posts about him in the previous seasons, even last season in which he was mostly poor, I was very positive and defended him, particularly in his first season, from criticisms.

Now I'm not sure about his professionalism. It's obvious Pep finds his desire to join England after being unfit to play for us deeply annoying.

I think Pep would have included him on the bench today had it not been for Carsley calling him up. Pep could say he was on bench as making a come back but not available to start, could have had some cameo minutes, but not fit enough to be in contention for England as too soon.

Now Carsley called Jack up it forces Pep to remove Jack from squad and hope that Jack pulls out. Up to Jack and England now to see how this plays out.

Jack wasn't caught drunk driving while at City. Happened in March 2020, more than a year before he joined us.

But he and the club make specific choices. To have a small squad. To play every competition. And his small squad of players get injured and are knackered as a result. That is not the national teams fault.

I have no truck with this “our player x always gets injured on international duty” - they always get injured on club duties ?!?

If people actually listened to what Carsley said - he acknowledge Grealish hadn’t played or been fit and therefore unlikely would factor. He probably just wants him to be present in camp, train but not play.

Another thing. All the moaning from Pep about the National teams and players/comms etc has only started since September. Something occurred when the English FA approached him about the job (and they definitely did, gave him alot of time to consider too). Too much of a coincidence.
