He would be great at Newcastle. All the best Jack, he played his part here but it's time to move on
We can’t get rid of anyone in January can’t people see that we are at bare bones abd need everyone we have got plus extra players . The only way we sell is if we need spaces and then I’m not so sure a 26 year old ins team full of 30 somethings who is played out if position would be my pick .

Jack is 29

You don't need experiments to prove he increases the probability to win, you just need to look at the analytics:

When he's on the pitch, the team plays better. Creates more chances, allows less chances - through all of the mechanisms there are for the creation and prevention of chances. As I said, most misunderstood player in the game, and that is because of the general obsession with boxscore stats rather then deep analytics.
Interesting stats but would be a lot more useful if you could quote the source and tell us who is the reference group for the per centiles.

It’s also very selective. Could you add in the stuff people are calling him on, e.g. goals, assists, shots on target?

Cheers.

Source is fbref and the comparison is to all the other wingers and attacking midfielders in the top 5 leagues and the CL.

And goals, assists and shots on target don't need references, we know how many goals or assists he had. The point was that he contributes to winning plenty even without scoring goals and assists.

So when a player of our own is criticized it makes the critic a miserable twat? Every player thread over the last couple of months has attracted just criticism. I made a joke about the Grealish and Zidane comparison, ironic given that you said we can't joke with ourselves as a fanbase. Too many on here are sensitive when it comes to anyone within our club being criticized or questioned. There's not a single player over this run that hasn't warranted derision or ire. But with Jack it's not just this run, is it? It's well over 18 months of uninspiring performances.

I then went on to point out his regression as a player. He's barely produced since we won the treble; nearly two seasons ago. If you're happy to shrug your shoulders at that, crack on. But accept many want to see a lot more from a guy that cost the club £100 million.

I didn't say that everyone was a miserable twat- you put that interpretation on my post.

I said there are certain posters who clearly take a great delight in criticising certain players with Grealish being one such player.

I personally don't care whether you agree with that or not, that is your prerogative, but I find it all a bit petty and distasteful from the same individuals time after time.

I had my say this morning and have kept away all day, but you chose to respond, hence this post.

Carry on wishing him gone, but until people with far more say than you or I decide to move him on, he will still be with us.

And for what it is worth, I think he deserves a run in midfield.

Over to the critics and haters.

Can't tell who had the stronger hate boner among City fans between Grealish and Sterling.

I don't wish him gone. What I wish is that he revives his City career; what I wish is that for the remainder of the season he can show us the kind of player he was at Villa.

Stop conflating hate with criticism. I love Jack as much as everyone; if his effectiveness on the pitch matched his infectiousness off it we'd be talking about one of the best to pull on our shirt. But he's running out of time and excuses.

A central stint would be nice to see, but we all know it just isn't going to happen.

Aye swap one bench for another.
Gets more money for staying on our bench.
