There is an actual point there though. Grealish has generally been playing better than Foden, for instance, over the last 2 months with good games against Salford, PSG and Orient yet he isn't considered even as a sub for a PL game. Meanwhile, Foden can ghost through consecutive games and still be a consistent starter. Say what you will about the level of competition, but at least he's played relatively solid in the chances he's given.

Regardless, Grealish hasn't been consistently fit or available which probably is why he plays when he does.
Foden is having a stinker of a season but how many assists and goals has Foden got in the time you’ve selected compared to Jack? Extend it out and I think penalty aside I don’t think Graelish has scored a goal in over 14 months. There’s no upside with Graelish unfortunately because there’s no end product. Objectively, if Graelish and Foden were put up for sale which player would we have multiple big money offers for and which one would we struggle to shift?

We’ve never relied on Grealish to be a prolific scorer but yes the lack of output there is poor to say the least. I only note Foden’s performances because if he isn’t scoring in games this season, he’s nowhere to be found and makes it look like we’re playing a man down. At least with Grealish, we can maintain possession and recycle to find other ways to break teams down.

Comparing their market values and offers in the market isn’t useful because one is 5/6 years younger than the other and untouchable to the club.

A 100 million quid, 300 thousand quid a week rotation player, who's a rotation player , not a starter, largely because of his unprofessional social activities
That's a whole lot of dosh, I was thinking for that you'd expect someone as effective as Salah.
Especially his form at Villa and then add Pep's record of making great players even better.

1 league goal in 14 months? I can't explain that.

Seen the garnacho footage of him blanking a young fan , probs about 8 years old, who was asking for an before driving whilst using his phobe?

In all honesty cunty behaviour like that worries me more than grealish having s few on a saturday night a week before the next game

What Garnacho is up to doesn't worry me. Its not nice but not affecting us.

Grealish is a generous guy who is particularly good with fans but he needs to be on the pitch.
No one minds a player having downtime and relaxing on a Saturday night as long as it is in moderation and adhering to the club rules.

Grealish’s issue is the same as Kalvin Phillips’. They lack intelligence and so their ceiling is lower that if they had it.

Neither have been able to fully adapt to Pepball, although Grealish’s natural ability got him much closer. There’s also an argument that Foden has got where he has because of natural talent and hasn’t developed into the absolute superstar he could have been.

We’ve been spoiled in the last decade. KDB, both Silvas, Yaya, Mahrez, Fernandinho, Rodri etc. All supremely intelligent footballers.

Now we have Nunes, Grealish and Phillips… even Doku is a question mark for me between the ears.

Grealish is pretty much done with us now. He could have done more, but probably not much more. He’s a vibes player in a Pep structure. They were never that compatible. He got us up the pitch though and slowed the pace down when we needed it.

It seems a natural ending to his time with us and he’s got some superb medals to hang in the Louvre.
I think Foden is more than intelligent enough but I agree otherwise. His issues this season are his body and mind.

I sort of agree that I think if we took the shackles off Foden and let him be himself, he would be a better player for it but maybe at the cost of the way we want to play.

I think he’d suit a team that has more pitch to run into, he looks most dangerous on the break when the opposition are in fewer numbers.

Our way of playing doesn’t suit most attackers imo, we create loads and loads of low quality chances because teams sit in so deep. Every game we actually get to use counter attacks we destroy them.

No wonder Palmer has looked good at Chelsea. Foden would look like Leo Messi for them.

I wasn’t trying to criticise Foden as there’s nothing he can really do about genetics.

He’s a street footballer, like Grealish. They just want the ball and to dribble for as long as they can.

Foden has better end product though by miles.

Did he break club rules?

Think this is the thing. VillaGrealish is compared to CityGrealish. Chalk n cheese.

VillaGrealish had wide open spaces to run into
citygrealish has parked buses.

His time Is clearly up. Did he reach the heights we hoped? Nope.
But ill be forever thank for his massive contribution in the treble season. Third amount of minutes or something?

Ill also be always thankfully for being a fuckin top bloke to my daughter when she was paired with him when she was a mascot.
And i reckon all the familys of kids with illnesses he gave a lot of time to are thank full too

he reached the heights ,but not for long enough

I still see Grealish with a future at City - if (if!) he can get fitter and he can prove that he can either rein in his social life or that his performances/training are the best he can give despite it, then he is a very good squad member. He is reliable on the ball, experienced, homegrown and seems ok with being a squad member.

Not sure if serious…
Very serious, and I gave the examples in my post which you may want to ignore as it doesn't suit a narrative. Grealish doesn't get a chance in a decent game often, or a standard league game for that matter. It doesn't have anything to do with his performance when he does get a shot in the cups, because he has come out of those games with goals and assists. He just isn't fancied which is fine but I can see why it would be demotivating for a player in that situation, especially when so many players keep getting rewarded with a starting place after playing shite.

nice generous lad off the pitch, but borderline anonymous and ineffective on it. Hopefully one of the first names out the door in the summer. Wishful thinking.
Yeah sorry but the game is up with Jack, staggering out of night clubs pissed when you need to be focused to get back in Pep's favour isn't professional.
We didn't pay North of 150 million, fee and wages for someone to be nice to kids... however much I admire that.

We could have gotten Elon Musk for less.
