For Christ sake what is this revisionist nonsense? If that was truly the case he would be the first name in Pep's team sheet. Want to see a player who never let us down? Then look at the likes of Rodri and Bernie (at least up until last year).

It's fine if you personally rate a player for whatever reason, but to rebrand that player as one that has put in prime Bernardo performance week in week out is just crazy. This isn't an argument about who built the pyramids, it's not something written in the history books, we are all here right now to witness Jack's performance LIVE and it has been completely below expectations. We can all see it ourselves, claiming otherwise is just ridiculous.

What metric are you judging this by because it isn't City's results?

Individual performances contribute to team performances which lead to results which can lead to trophies and in Grealish's glorious first 3 seasons 3 Premier Leagues, 1 Champions League, 1 FA Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup were won.

Grealish has started 1 PL defeat in the last 2 seasons so how do you explain the 11 PL defeats in this period where presumably players who weren't "completely below expectations" were playing.

File under Good signings? Nope. He'll barely warrant a mention when the history of peps reign is written. As far as never saying a bad word about the club. I'd hold fire on that until he's gone.

Grealish's name will be in the history books when the tedious ramblings of this thread are long forgotten by starting in the CL winning team, the Super Cup winning team, the 2023 CWC winning team, the FA Cup Final win vs the rags (but strangely not the defeat) because City won more games with Grealish in the team and lost more matches without him in the side.

I'll take heed of the Godfather of modern football rather than the Daily Mirror's goal and assist charts

Brian Clough famously stated that it only takes a second to score a goal, emphasizing the need for players to maintain constant focus and readiness. Yet the fantasy football fans on here reduce an FA Cup semi final to 2 seconds and completely disregard the remaining 5398 seconds plus injury time - short attention spans on steroids.

Agree. Personally think he was a big part of the treble winning season, look at his performances in big games such as Arsenal and Madrid.

Some of you here are just downright sad. The hate for one of our own is completely overblown and uncalled for. Sure, Grealish hasn’t lived up to the transfer fee or wages but that’s what the club valued him at and it was always going to be difficult to actually prove that value.

You get nothing out of being dickheads online, so what’s the point?

He turned up in neither the champions league final or the Fa cup win over the rags by his own admission. Those other two are nothing to brag about competitions . Wins in which I cant recall how he played. He's been a huge let down here, Nothing will convince me otherwise.

You know nothing about football if you can't see the invisible work he puts in. Open your fucking third eyes man, it's all in the ether realm

This thread is a great metric of who can be read on footballing matters and who to file under, avoid like the plague.
Cheers.
Shame Pep seems to be loosing his "football reading" ability, cause I can't see why he isn't starting Jack for every game, surely he's lost the divine ability to see what Jack brings to the team.

Grealish hasn't met our expectations. I think that this is uncontroversial.

Grealish excels at drawing fouls and keeping the ball. He's not great at beating defenders one-on-one at all. And he his crosses aren't exceptional. Since we mostly play Grealish at left wing, the aforementioned weaknesses in his game come to the fore.

On top of this - Grealish likes a "night out on the town." Pep doesn't tolerate this behavior - and this sets up a tension - where Grealish is in the dog house under Pep but might well start under a different manager.

IMO - the best outcome for Grealish - is that we sell him this summer. Under a more tolerant manager he'll start more often. And, IMO, left winger isn't at all the best position for Grealish. An attacking midfield role on the left side is a much better fit.

He should go Man United. They love an overrated, pretty much finished player, who’s on a high salary. And the all those City fans that fancy him can still have comfort knowing he’s not too far. Win win

I hope when he is out on sale there will be auction for his signature between clubs

I am interested to know so as to how many clubs will bid for him.

Probably will be a record given he is next Lionel Messi when it comes to impact and play
If he leaves, the market will determine his value.

not good news that he'll likely leave on loan, genuinely solves very little. Needs sold.

His wages are just daft though so understand its not an easy one.
Who would be daft enough to buy him?

He won't take a pay cut and he offers the promise of no professionalism while delivering next to nothing on the pitch.

Someone might loan him as a season long gamble where we will likely pick up the vast majority of his salary.
