It’s petty is what it is but I suppose both sides are guilty and it’s not stopping anytime soon.

I’ve nothing against Grealish as a player to be honest. He played a big part in an unbelievable season last year. I prefer to watch Doku and think his potential is incredible. Don’t think it needs to be either or all the time though. Would have liked to see Grealish on the left today with Doku right and Foden central.

Shame Grealish has never had a few games centrally but doesn’t look like it will ever happen here now.

Needs to keep working hard on his fitness and intensity, the assists will come. Teams are now doubling up on him which is expected. Needs to vary his crossing though, some dinked others flashed. Need to see him on the RW.

Was hardly like he had easy options once he’d skinned people. They had an absolutely packed defence so all he could really attempt was to flash balls across. Was still a great outlet for us and had them having to double up on him constantly. Retained the ball well in the main. Your mate Jack actually almost dropped us in the shit twice in his 10 minutes by losing the ball cheaply in his own half.

I just don't believe Doku is tidy enough on the ball and it is highlighted even more when we have 3 or 4 around him who aren't quite up to the standards in tight spaces.

He's young, I don't hate him and it is great to have options. But at the moment I think Grealish is a better option for control if we aren't getting the numbers from Doku. Pep thinks different and his opinion is the only one that matters.

When you say tidy do you mean because he loses it at times? No player ever who dribbles a lot won’t lose it a fair bit because it’s the hardest thing to do hence why so few can dribble like that. If you tell him to just protect the ball and not commit defenders he has the strength to do that all day but that would be wasting his talent. Clearly Pep wants him committing defended and he did it very well today at times.

Sorry for saying your mate. Was just frustrated because it seems like if Doku loses it a couple of times people will say we need Grealish’s control. At times we will but a couple of times whilst on Grealish dwelled on it himself and lost it in bad areas. I think they’d actually compliment each other well on opposite flanks.
