Really dont understand the amount of shite he gets of some posters , he is 21 and not the finished article but every time he gets on the ball he is trying to create something , his final ball needs work and Pep will only improve the lad , lay off him.
Also when he lost the ball today he was so strong and won it back numerous times. The lads 21 and if he can compose himself in the box and add assists and goals to his game he will be very hard to defend against.

Doku as young 21 years old player needs a senior player like Grealish to lessen his burden and expectation for him playing for us in his first season.

Grealish either getting injured or not fit enough to play will bring no good to team, ofcourse it will leads more minutes for Doku but at the same time it will increasing alot of burden and expectation on him which is not good at all for young player like him.
Pahaha. So even when Doku's not good enough it's Grealish's fault somehow. Got it.

Some posters just need a whipping boy to blame.

And while I’m here defending a 21 year old who was our biggest threat today.

Did you people who are bashing his performance not see what Chelsea was doing every time.

Did you wonder why Palmer was always 3-5 yards away from Gutso on the edge of his own box? They doubled up on Doku every time. Palmer played like a fullback especially in the second half. So that took away Chelsea main attacking threat.

They know the threat of Doku. Any team who leaves a fullback 1 v 1 with him will get exposed. Do you think this is being done because he’s crap?

Wasn’t brilliant but didn’t hide and had his moments.

Others players tonight weren’t perfect (Admittedly with more credit in the bank) so to pick Doku out is harsh. But then again Mahrez and Grealish for example faced criticism.

Players are not machines and must if there is talent be given time.

I think he was average. He created some good crosses, but his decision making and when to pass quickly is just poor. He is 21, so I am sure he can learn, but it will depend on how stubborn he proves to be. At least, you can see his pressing has improved, so clearly, he takes instruction.

He was completely fucked and that’s despite coming on as a sub on 44 mins! He’s objectively exciting to watch but I do think some people are letting his take-ons blind them from all of his weaknesses. I don’t see him as being ready to be a reliable starter in this team yet. The issue is that with the injuries he almost has to be. But he isn’t yet imo.
Posted this back in September when people were blinded by take-ons. He isn’t ready to play meaningful minutes for us but because Grealish has had a season to forget, for numerous reasons, Doku is having to play way more often than he should be. And that’s a problem for us as he isn’t at the level required on or off the ball. He could be in time, he’s 21, but right now he’s miles off.

I feel sorry for him because he’s clearly trying hard but he looks like everything is weighing down on him right now and his teammates are visibly frustrated with him over and over during the matches. He needed to play less and be eased in but it couldn’t pan out that way in the end.
