people keep repeating the word "raw" and I gotta say I don't quite understand what that means. looks mature as hell to me. doesn't enter battles he can't win, doesn't aimlessly dribble but always with a sense of purpose. slows the game down when necessary, increases the tempo when necessary.

45 mins where he was by far our best player, mind..

I agree, I thought he looked a pretty intelligent player. Picked some nice passes, knew when to pass it back into the midfield when it was the better option etc

I reserve the term raw for people who have natural gifts but not particularly good players. Adama Traore was what I'd called raw, all the pace and dribbling ability you may ever need but no idea when to use it effectively 95% of the time, and never really developed as a good player and should've been way better than he turned out.

Doku isn't that at all, he's clearly a very good footballer that understands what he's doing in the moment.

Well, this player is not convincing at the moment, that's for sure. Maybe he can shine in the weak French league and against weaker national teams, but this is the Premier League, you need more, this is the so-called super league. He doesn't even look like a rapid player here, in fact!
Considering it was posted at 4:02 and he scored at 4:04 (?) this might have aged quicker than any message on bluemoon which in itself is remarkable considering it's a place where we're all wrong almost all of the time.

He's in good company at least.

We’ve all done it. Maybe not quite so gloriously, but we have.

Was good to hear Moyes thoughts on Doku after the match, especially since West Ham made an offer for him at the time we were trying to tie up a deal. Plus, they played against him in pre-season. It’s clear from his comments that Doku is the kind of player where it doesn’t really matter how well you know him, if he’s on it there’s really nothing you can do to stop him. Moyes was basically saying Coufal played well but what more can he actually do to stop Doku when he’s as aggressive as that? Absolutely nothing. He’s of course very, very raw still - he’s only 21 - but the signs are encouraging, particularly because it’s clear he has Pep’s trust and patience.

The hysterical shit written in the match day threads is why i hardly bother reading it anymore. It's much more enjoyable watching the game than worrying what clueless armchair numpties think.

Had a look at HT. Some numptie was basically saying Gvardiol isn’t very good and he told everyone when we bought him.
