Can't really judge him from yesterday.

If Grealish was fit, he wouldn't have started and he's barely had time to train with us, and especially not had time with Pep.

Technically not a Pep player....he is exactly a Pep player who just needs refinement, Pep loves technically gifted players and this lads ability with the ball at his feet is exceptional.
He also loves a player who is humble and hard working and you can also see that already

I get the feeling you are a disgruntled fan from another team
Calling me a fan from another team just because I said your super hero’s debut was poor? Can you please stop this fan boy behavior and grow up?

He will be fine after some good tutoring from Pep when he’s back at the helm, exciting player, I’d use him as a sub when jacks back and ease him in against tired legs.

Cant be arsed reading back through, but are there seriously people slagging him off already?

Keep up mate. Those who know their football only need 80 minutes to decide he’ll never be a Pep type player.

The good news is Txiki kept the receipt so we can hopefully return Jezza to the farmers league next window.

His debut showed me that we’re just going to have to wait for him to feel part of the squad. He just needs to settle and find his place in the dressing room. Grealish was the same. Eventually something just clicked and you could tell he finally felt like he belonged here. Doku looked very, very nervous and seemed to beat himself up a bit if he kicked the ball out of play or missed a pass. It’ll just take time for him to feel comfortable here, so no point judging him until then.

Even Mahrez and Bernardo looked lost as wingers for us during their first season. Let’s relax a bit on a guy who’s just made his debut and in a game we eventually won comfortably, looked very good on the left as compared to the right.

The highlights for me were his 1v1 ability, the fact he’s willing to put in defensive work and not shying from tackles. Only bit obvious was he looked a bit weak, expected since he’s never played at this level prior, and a few of his passes were undercooked, also expected since he’s new and only learning, the more chemistry he builds with his teammates the better.

Being a winger for us is not easy, even Jack has looked average on numerous occasions, it takes a lot of work and detail to succeed here. He will be a huge plus for us in games we need something different, for now expecting him to just run through defences like he’s the second coming of Lionel Messi simply won’t happen.

What I liked was that he recognised that it was a lot harder to play his usual game, but instead of getting frustrated, he said he made sure he put in a shift defensively.

Jack and Bernardo got two seasons. I remember coming out of games in Bernardo’s first season with people writing him off. The lads had one game and has not had any ‘Pep’ time yet.
People writing off Doku aren't worth anyone's time... with that being said, Bernardo's talent was evident even in his first season in my eyes.

Super hero? Hahahahaha...is that your argument? Grow up.....Im not the one calling a player after one single game .....maybe go and learn something about football and come back in a few years or better still dont bother and just disappear into the ether as you clearly have nothing about you if this is your standard of posting again to criticise a player after his first performance and one where he was actually quite effective.

The superhero comment shows more about you and that for whatever sad reason, you have some sort of agenda....very revealing infact

I think most of us were surprised at his immediate first-team appearance, but he was decent. He did some really good things and he looked a bit amateurish, at times, and that's okay. I like the fact that he has recognised that and was willing to say it out loud. I also think he would not have played unless he showed something in training. I feel very positive about him.
