Jeremy Doku’s raw talent is undeniable — but his distribution remains a serious concern.

Lightning pace, sharp feet, and 1v1 ability make him electric going forward, but far too often the final ball is rushed, overhit, or misjudged. In a system like City’s, where possession and precision are everything, that’s a glaring gap.

Yes, he stretches defences and causes chaos, but if you’re consistently ending moves instead of progressing them, it becomes a liability rather than an asset. End product isn’t just about assists — it’s about decision-making under pressure, and Doku’s radar just isn’t calibrated yet.

Plenty of potential, but unless he sharpens his distribution, he risks becoming more of a YouTube highlights player than a trusted cog in a Guardiola machine
Maybe tune in to the snooker over the rest of your bank holiday weekend

I thought he was brilliant in the first half. There was a ten minute spell just before our goal where he was an absolute menace.

He just needed a few more options in the box at times. But his assist was excellent.

He was great, and against a defensively solid opponent, and with no 'striker' to hit.
We give wingers a damn hard time. We want them to be ambitious but never to lose the ball. We want them to be accurate in their passing but don't want it sideways or backwards.
Let it go, you are chasing a myth.
Doku is one of the best young wingers in the world game, and has parts of his game where he is probably number 1. His dribbling stats are globally top of the pile, yet he is only 22. Celebrate what we have.

Too frustrating by far. Lovely assist for Kev but after that trying one trick too many and losing the ball time after time. Wolves played him very well, they knew he was the danger and doubled up on him, sometimes more

What a fucking stupid comment.

Stick to crayons. Adults talking here.
2nd half we did nothing. First half any threat we had was through him. We kept giving him the ball for about 10 minutes and it resulted in him making the goal.

Hes a chaotic player who im convinced has no idea what hes doing when he gets the ball, which isnt a bad thing as such.
He did brilliant for the goal but then i dont recall any other time he had a run that didnt end up in a blind alley after that

One time he beat his guy, got into the perfect crossing position inside the box, where we had 4-5 players.....all in line with each other. No-one making a run near post, no-one dropping back for a cut-back, nothing.

For sure he can do better with the final pass, but the team doesn't help him sometimes.

Mate,i really don’t know what he’s supposed to do. The stick he kept getting was he can beat a man for fun but has no end product. He’s played about 110 minutes in the last 2 games at the Etihad and brilliantly set up our last 2 goals! Yet still people complain.

The bigger point is sitting on the side he was attacking last night the amount of times he got the ball and had 2/3 players on him and nobody in the box. Genuinely what the fuck is he supposed to do? I wanted the ball to go to him as he’s the only player we have (Marmoush aside the odd time) who can genuinely skin defenders but short of beating 3/4 players and scoring himself it was mostly going to come to nothing because he had no support. What looked like a big improvement last night was the odd time he had players inside he played little passes inside whilst he was half way through a dribble. They didn’t all come off but was definitely getting his head up more.

For people who will comment on him losing the ball whilst dribbling! What on earth do you expect to happen? Dribbling is the hardest thing to do in football. Especially when teams have 2 and 3 players on someone and the opposite wing is nonexistent. The easy option would be stop each time and pass backwards. I’m sure then rather than saying he’s not lost the ball once people would say he’s done nothing and might as well have Grealish there!

No one doubts the dribbling and ability to beat a man. End product is what we want. Get his head up and pick a pass. He did that last night. More of the same going forward and people will get off his back.

Better. Love to see it.

Whilst I will not argue his final decision needs a lot of improvement, most of the time when he looks up in the box he see's a sea of opponents and maybe 1 teammate amongst them, we don't exactly flood the box so the player on the ball has ample options and he's just making the wrong one.

The opposite winger or potentially fullback has to be getting in on the back post, there needs to be a late runner or 2 from midfield and there needs to be a striker in there. Give him those options and see what he produces. If he's still messing up final balls then fair enough but it's not like he's not playing simple passes to wide open players. He found kdb last night when he was the only player in the box.

By no means the finished article but he's the one making the difference for us lately. Well done Jeremy keep it up, getting better now he seems to have been able to put a good run together without picking up a niggle
