11 | Jeremy Doku - 2024/25

Blaming Doku is foolish.

He has double or triple manned and then people expect him to do something.

If that happens, then he did his job, the others have to be smarter to explot the obvious spaces left.
The thing I don't get, whenever he plays we constantly play through him. He does get double and triple teamed but we never switch things around where there should be plenty of space for the other side to play in.

Jeremy is a bit like Savinho.

He has his faults, but I refuse to blame him or Savinho. They have their strengths, raw ability, and it's undeniable. We all know what they need to work on, but these are the sort of things that they can learn/improve. They are so young, and already playing at an extremely high level. I have no doubt the two of them will be with us for many years to come as the foundation of our future success.

Last week vs Palace Dias constantly ignored Savinho to the point Sav was throwing his arms up in frustration. Ignoring him with some of the space he had was criminal considering Dias then slowed the game down to constantly pass into the tightest of spaces for it to eventually reach Doku five passes later. What’s the point playing two wingers if you only trust one with the ball?

His assist output would go up considerably if Haaland realised Doku isn't going to lift a cross to the back post of his left foot and instead got to the near post where he mostly puts it.
Pisses me off bog time about haaland not making those near post runs

We need sergio back in a coaching roll to show him how its done

The most frustrating and brainless winger I have seen in a City shirt. He has lost more possession today than what Mahrez did during his whole time in the club.

He just doesn't run enough. Doesn't go in channels, doesn't make dummy runs, doesn't roam enough in the opposition's half, doesn't play enough one-twos, doesn't enter the box when he should. Hes so static, just stands most of the time. Man City teams of the past were always made of constant and smart movement. Doku starts thinking the moment he gets the ball, and then its always too late.
