If it was just today I might agree, but he has been here 2 seasons now and what he delivers in terms of goals and assists is simply not good enough. Especially since he offers little in the other parts of the game.Be doing very well to pick anyone out today in that set up. Couple of times where he did Marmoush and Foden fucked it
Could be closeI’m going for 16,456 mentions of his ‘end product’ on this thread by next summer
But he failed ALL 5 of his crosses, 0/5 successful. He needs to work on his end product (we have been saying that since he came here) but he was not the problem today. He gave TAA a torrid time.
I agree but I don’t think we ever got enough people in the box today. Doku has to take some responsibility for failing to find his man but we didn’t give him as many options as we should have. But he failed ALL 5 of his crosses, 0/5 successful.
He won so many ground duels and dribbles... I partially agree, this is not just Doku, this is a team problem.
Worth a try, certainly has a LOT of potential. He's so weird.
He made 32/39 passes, and of those 6 he misplaced, 5 of them were crosses.
And he only took 5 crosses, so he failed every cross.
But he won 14/20 ground duels, and completed 13/18 dribbles.
So like... what's going on?
Nobody in the box to cross to? Because 3 men immediately block all his crosses, then we need to adapt to that, but he was just doing it over and over again all game, this isn't even just a Doku issue, it's a Pep and team issue.
Maybe play Jack LW, and let Doku be a false 9 instead if Haaland is injured?
He can draw fouls, dribble like crazy in the box, and has a strong base because he wins alot of duels. If he gets a pass in the box it'd probably be a better chance for him than the others who aren't as strong, or as good at dribbling.
