12th April Pubs Go Live (well outside anyway).

Save your taxi/ tram fares
Might as well get a few cans or bottles and freeze your bollocks of in your garden

Went out yesterday afternoon. First pub we went in were allowing customers to go in and order at the bar. No waitress service whatsoever. No track and trace either. Also taking cash if you wanted. Pretty sure all three are against the rules. Anyway later on some council officials turned up and think they got into a bit of trouble

The council woman also had a bit of a go at us as we were stood up round the table rather than sat down. The tables were well spaced out so we weren't intruding on anybody elses personal space. Its actually easier to social distance stood up rather than 6 of you crammed round a table

The other pub we went in followed everything to the letter of the law
Cash is legal still... just.
And the council woman having a go at you.... over officious prick.
On the news before about a pub in poulton having to close half its beer garden because of the way some over zealous official interpreted the rules.

ive always said, give people the power to enforce rules and they will with enthusiastic glee

Well had a great time yesterday at a retirement party for a mate (poor bugger has to have 3 parties with the rule of 6), lunch at The Bridge in Sale, ended up having 4 hours there as they weren't too busy then onto the Slug & Lettuce (not my choice) for another 2 hours.

Both venues were well organised & felt safe, plenty of space between tables etc.

Woke up with beer sweats..... forgot how horrible a hangover feels.

Your a fucking beer monster pal

Gorgeous weather in Sheffield and Manchester last 2 days. Just the 8 pubs for me, all safe and well managed and great to see the students back out.

But as an old codger you really notice the chill after about 6pm, and the bladder leash becomes an issue when there's no public toilets, portaloos or McDonalds/Spoons you can nip in.

I hope the young folk serving us at our tables feel as safe as I do.
