You make some very salient points, and it was a point I made in the blocking of internet born debate, however it is wrong to actually blame all men because we are not all like that, I dislike porn nowadays as it's just a fantasy version of sex as we all know real world sex in nothing like what most porn portrays, it's giving people imposable expectations, perhaps if we had proper and grown up sex education in this country and could talk about the issues openly and honestly

I think the blame lies everywhere. Fashion industry, entertainment etc. I think kids want to grow upto quickly but they are kids and a
Can be forgiven for behaving in a silly way.adults need to be the ones who know the difference between right and wrong thinking, especially those in positions of power and ability to do something about it. Maybe my point was overly strong but when you hear someone say "13 year old slag" as a mother it does not sit right with me and I get agitated and defensive.

I think any decent parent knows realises this, but we really need to bring the topic from behind the back of the bike shed and start teaching children about the emotional aspects of sex, and the right to say No,

Sex education has been in mainstream schools for years.
It seems to have done little to address this problem yet I can't understand why.

Just going back to the original topic for a moment.

Who actually made the comment about the girl been predatory?

The report I read described him as a prosecutor. Is this just his job title and he was acting for the defence?

Other people seem to think it was in the judges summing up.

That is how I read it at first. Then I read it again and interpreted it as just the defence barrister who said this (hence my comment about how he should be ashamed of himself).

The guy was actually a barrister acting on behalf of the crown. He was prosecuting which is odd, who needs enemies eh

I'd be mortified man.

That sort of stuff has happened to people I know before. Not the police but finding out the truth a week later and feeling guilty.

This song seems suitable.

Btw I do agree with the stuff girlBOB said.
Do you think you'd deserve prison though? Does anybody?

Naa I would think of myself as innocent as I would of been tricked. I wouldn't of been looking to get with somebody underage.

Tricky one really though
This is where mitigation comes into play Josh. In my opinion though, the 41 year old in this case should serve at least 3 or 4 years inside because he KNEW full well that the girl was underage.

I don't get why he got away with the stuff he had on his computer either or is that what the 8 months suspended was for ?

He was on the prosecution side???!

I'm even more astonished now! :-(

I think I will do a bit of research into this next time I'm bored at work.

I can't for the life of me imagine a scenario where a comment like that could do anything but hinder the prosecution case.

I agree he should serve time. It's something you really have to watch out for during my age though!

If he WAS on the prosecution side then that comment defies belief. It's almost negligent in the exercising of his duties.
