13 year old girl described as 'predatory' in court...

I don't know what the shock is with all this. Lets take away the paedo for a minute, as he should have been sent down if he knew how old she was.

How many times have you drove past a girl from behind, looked at her legs on show and then had a sneaky look in your rear-view to see her face? I have, and sometimes it's clear she is under age and you feel a right **** for it. Now there are girls who dress that way and purposely go out looking for sex, even though they know they are under age. I can't and won't say too much but I know of a case where this has happened round here, and it's currently on-going. It's slightly different in how the guy was told she was over the age of consent, but the matter of fact is she is 14 and she went out purposely looking for sex and found it.

It's about time someone of authority, in this case a judge, let the 'victim' know that the paedo isn't totally to blame as this kind of thing happens alot.

Sometimes they are really old as well, it evens itself out over time, so don't beat yourself up over it.

The age of consent, has to be rigidly enforced, especially when the age gap is so huge. Whatever you may say about a 19 year old and a 15 year old, there is no excuse for a 41year old and a 13 year old.

I'm not sure it can mate. I would imagine it would always have to boil down to willing consent. Look at it like this a 14 year old Italian girl and her 50 year old boyfriend are in London and they have sex, this is legal in italy but not in UK, would you expect the man to be convicted of statutory rape? It's such a grey area. We are almost left in the situation that it is a self-enforced law where we hope a persons moral compass stops them entering into inappropriate relationships but that's is hardly ideal.

It isn't a grey area though is it?

Everyone knows that having sex with someone under 16 is illegal. Of course a 16 year old having sex with a 15 year old is a world away from them been 41 and 13. You'd like to think that would be reflected in the sentencing in the individual cases though.

I don't see what the issue is. Isnt the whole point of being in court for the truth to come out and set the picture for the jury to decide. If the girl was sexually experienced then surely this is something people need to be made aware of.

It's Britain. We're not allowed to say it as it is if it's even remotely controversial.

So you believe that everybody knows this? Even foreign nationals where they are in a legal relationship? that, I believe, is a grey area. You can't also treat the 16 and 15 year old any differently than a 50 and 15 year old in the eyes of the law. Again we morally differentiate between the two but when you start adding morals to law you enter a grey area as it becomes subjective.

Let me turn this on its head then...who would sleep with a 14 year old girl in Italy knowing it is legal?
