I've mentioned a few times he reminds me of Otamendi in ways and this was one of the better sides of that comparison.

If he doesn't make some silly error, he almost always has a top game. Today he had a great game.

Completely mauled lukaku, dominated him both on the deck and aerialy. Majestic performance and proof both he and stones don't need hand holding. Solid as a rock.

Couldn’t agree more. Laughable some on here won’t the lad gone and suggest he’s not good enough. 12 wins on bounce with this lad a constant. His contribution going forward and to our tempo massively underrated. Makes the game look easy.

Might just be the best Laporte performance in a blue shirt out there today. For the most part had Lukaku in the back pocket. Calm, controlled and superior in the air all afternoon.
