We would have been top of the league.

We have to replaced Kdb with quality. So yes, need Wirtz as a KdB replacement. Wirtz isn't replacing Foden, he is replacing KdB. The more quality players we have the more games and trophies we win.

Fair point.

Foden isn't a playmaker though, not from what we've seen from him so far, he's a second striker.

Is Wirtz? I haven't seen him loads, but from what I have seen I wouldn't say he's super creative. Albeit clearly an extremely good footballer. (better than Musiala who gets more hype)

His assist tally suggest so but I haven't watched him consistently.

I've only really seen him a handful of times for Germany and in those games I would describe him more as a very intelligent player with an eye for goal. But I'm certainly no expert on him.

I am so sorry but for me, Musiala is a baller, I like him more than Wirtz and Musiala is the most perfect player for low blocks we face every game. Wirtz is a star too. Anyway, if we don't get Wirtz, Baena would be mint too, super creative player.

By the way, I have watch both Musiala and Wirtz a lot!

Easy to see why we’ve tracked him for so long. Seamless display against a very good midfield.
As other have pointed out, he took 3/4 years off Gundogan, gave proper passing lanes to Ederson and the centre backs.
Was always in the right position to stop the simple transition ball that’s been killing us.
Tougher tests to come, but a signing with huge potential.
Showed what a difference a single player can make. Apart from running the game I loved him organising everyone around him. He was a leader in his first full game and the spine of him stones Foden and Haaland gave us an entirely different look.

Musiala is good but kills too many attacks for Bayern for me, when I've seen them. Yeah, now and again he will do a wonderful dribble. But a lot of times he loses the ball when an easy pass to Kane or out wide could have been made. I know he's young though and decision making will only get better. But in terms of their overall tools, I like more from what I see from Wirtz myself.

Knew he was going to be brilliant for us. What a temperament, especially as he's been played more as a sort of 8 for Porto and is adept further forward. The fact that he clearly ignores instinct in favohr of the plan is fantastic. Can see immediately that he takes Pep's instructions and follows them through on the pitch. Him and Godri together will be insane - when 1 pushes up, the other will sweep & dictate. Perfect.

fantastic today - exactly what we've been missing in midfield this season

can't wait to see him and Rodri play in the same midfield

Fully agree. Really promising signs.
