He looks fucking class. Great players always appear to have so much time on the ball. Conducting the tempo of the game with incredible awareness. We've got ourselves another midfield maestro, boys and girls.

Two great signs for me were his leadership and passing through the lines.

He's come in and immediately become a voice in the team, making his point to those around him and dictating marking, movement and pressing. Similar to how Ruben arrived.

His passing is also superb. One of his first passes of the match was a line breaking pass to Foden in the pocket. That signified his intentions and vision from the off. Then his management of our tempo was exemplary.

A gifted player who could be one of the keys to our success over the next 5-8 years.

Thinking ahead to tough CL games in the future, we're going to be a lot more robust and difficult to beat having the ability to play Rodri and Nico together. The positivity from his performance and the result on Saturday is huge. You can see already we're going to be in great shape next season to challenge for the title again. A couple more additions and we're there.

Gvardiol is gonna get 10+ goals next season guaranteed. Even possibly getting close to that in the league, he will have so much more freedom especially if khusanov becomes the right back

One of those who's just born to play football how he angles his body to protect it, get a foot in etc, proper player. He seemed to help get the whole midfield back to defend a break and not only that his passes helped us attack a lot quicker.Great system that with Savinho pace as an outlet and our Egyptian making cross over runs.

Nico and Rodri together are going to be brutal. We buy a RB plus an A grade creative/attacking midfielder and we're set. Our team profile will be young and dynamic again, with Captain Haaland leading the front for 10 years.
This season will have been a blessing in disguise.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Injuries or a general decline could have occurred at any point. But we managed to win four league title in a row. With a treble thrown in for good measure. It's hit this season, but whilst it would have been nice to extend the record, it's finally shaken the club up and made them aware that they cannot rest on their laurels at any point. It's finally led us to provide cover and support for Rodri and enhance attacking and defensive areas. It's shown Pep that, with the number of games now, we cannot have a small happy squad. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone. Some might not be happy at times, but he has to manage that. It's better to have a few more numbers so we can protect key players. The new signings have all impressed and other players under pressure looked so much better alongside them. Gundo was reborn with Nico in the side. Rico was a lot more comfortable and Khusanov and Nico were there to support him when he didn't get it quite right. Newcastle looked to stifle Haaland so Marmoush thrived in the space available.

We might still go out of the CL on Wednesday, but the future is bright.

The right time to strengthen is not when you're weak (like this year) but when you're strong.
Luckily Kush, Nico and Omar are dropping into place now, Vitor and Echeverri to come in soon.

Like I said, what's done is done and if we were going to slip up in the market/on the pitch this year was better than the previous ones. We've set records, made history and the club made an error thinking the same group could continue as they were. Things are looking much brighter already and there's plenty more to come when you think of who is still injured and the need to add in some more attacking talent to replace De Bruyne/Gundo moving forwards.

Just rewatched the game with my eye firmly on him.
He had a fantastic game and did nothing wrong, if anything he was stifled a little by gundo, rico, Phil and occasionally stones invading his space , most likely because they have become accustomed lately to trying to fill spaces in the absence of rodders.

One minor criticism I’m sure he will iron out, at times when facing his own goal, there was an oppo player between himself and the ball-holder, Ederson, khusanov, and stones and he wasn’t available for the outball, he could have moved a yard or two and still be in space to receive the ball and pass or turn with it.
That’s being really picky in what is virtually his first game and I’m sure will be worked on.
Let’s hope he keeps fit because he really is the difference maker.

I'm beginning to conclude that we sre not going to need an attacking player. With Marmoush, Phil, Bobb, Doku, Savio, Mctee and Echeveria, i don't see how we fit one in. And that's without Jack, Bernardo, Kev in the mix. Yet, I expect at least 1 of those 3 to stay.
