You can't really judge a player arriving from abroad for 6 months in any case, but he's got next to no chance when he's playing next to Bernardo and Gundogan.

I expect he'll look a good player next year next to Rodri.

Good passer, but a bit slow. Madrid has players who are technically good as well as physical/fast

Thought he was more mobile than that. Only thing I'll say, no rash judgements based on his third game for us at the bernabeu with a dreadful gameplan to execute. Shame he didn't really smash vinicius when taking the yellow card instead of just pulling his pants down.

looked really slow vs a team that has speedy midfielder. Newcastle midfield aint quick at all and thats why it didnt show up how slow he is.

Not sure we could play both him and Rodri against Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Paris Saint-Germain. There’s a lack of pace over short distances that these sides can exploit.

I seem to remember that a Porto fan posted on here before we bought him, said that he doubted whether he was good enough for us and in particular whether he had the engine to make it in the PL.

Gundo was hardly lightning at his peak and we did fine then.

Newcastle’s midfield is quite notorious for being high energy and constantly on top of you. Actual physical speed is just one side to a team being ‘quick’ IMO.
