The problem is that our players had been f*cked over from the first whistle. I think Rodder's reaction to losing the ball unfairly in his eyes was just a culmination of every other decision that had gone against us up to that point. Yes, he shouldn't have stopped running, but we all know what would have happened if he'd tackled back.

That post is exactly how I would have described John Stones a year ago, so we do at least know that these more intangible qualities like concentration and focus can actually be worked on and improved. Stones and Zinchenko have both come on leaps and bounds this year in terms of staying sharp and making good decisions for the full 90 every game
Add Kyle Walker to that list. Had a couple of iffy moments but no huge brainfarts for a while!

I’m not disagreeing with the decision to drop him. I don’t think he has ever been up to replacing Ferna.It isn't. He is a squad player like every other man in the team. If you are not in form, you are dropped. It is as it should be.
I mean he effectively has replaced Fernandinho, and we've won the league, won the Carabao, and are in the CL final.
