He was excellent tonight, seeing more and more of his well-timed tackles he was celebrated for at Athletico, better still he's tackling the ball forward into space so we can break immediately.

Veyy good today. By far his best game for us that isn't Burnley. Peps changed what he's asking him to do, it's covering his weaknesses well and the team and he himself look much much better for it.

Finally!

That’s what we wanted. It’s taken time, but today he was everywhere.

His tempo is greatly improved and he’s being sensible in his passes.

What a performance.

Something to keep in mind, he is only 24 and always needed time to adapt to us after that first year.

He can EASILY play 10 more years, so happy we got this immense talent.

Anybody who thinks we should have sold him must feel foolish for writing him off so quickly.

Absolute drivel, it’s got nothing to do with the support, more the ability to gain experience, which has been discounted...

Not like you at all but you come across as a right knobhead with that post, patronising and condescending, ‘
Wasn't meant that way

Thought he was brilliant today, not only that but I thought the second half had the feel of the second half of the semi in the fa cup 2011 vs united - a real tussle for power, and rodri was one we seemed able to rely on the most. Loved the bit when he put Mane on his arse when shielding the ball about 65 minutes in, he swept up everything brilliantly. Chuffed to bits

He is a great player. I have defended him from the beginning because his strengths mark him out as a genuinely world-class operator with incredible positional sense and an ability to consistently break up opposition attacks and begin our own. No player is complete, absolutely no player, but in a complimentary side, he will deliver in a way that others can only dream of. Any player needs team mates that compliment them so that they can deliver to their best; he is the same.

Superb, seemed to win the ball back all of the time, never fussed under pressure and was pretty much always available as an option. Really top performance.

Fair enough mate, I did raise an eyebrow as it certainly isn’t like you...

Also, it isn’t a points scoring game, I just think he is looking more and more capable and that surely comes with experience and coaching... he alongside Bernie were exceptional in the middle today!

Absolutely brilliant. First one to admit I had my doubts with him in our system but gladly having to eat my words. Top class today.

Previously he struggled a smidge because of his size I felt. He's a big lad, so when our press gets bypassed he doesn't have too much agility to recover. There were signs though that when we pressed well he was something of a man mountain. There was a lot of other stuff he did well too (but that's a separate point to this).

Lately he's become a human battering ram. He hasn't changed much, but we're far more cohesive as a team, and he's less exposed. It's good to see him do so well defensively. It's vindicating too for the 8 of us that knew he was good all along.

Rodri was excellent yet again. Its a race between him and Stones for most improved player.
rodri has never really been that bad tbh stones is a complete turn around so its not close for me. Rodri took the season to settle like most of peps signing do. Rodri turnaround if there is one is more comparable with cancelo than stones imo.
