Held everything together today and doing the job he is in the team for , win the ball and give it to the creative players , he isnt in the team to play 60 yard cross field balls , he is in the team to stop the opposition at source which he is brilliant at.
 
Best midfielder in the world?

He is so good at suffocating the opposition and not letting them get out whenver they do win the ball. It never gets old watching him just shrug off an opposition player when they try and nick it off him, we haven't had that ability since Yaya.
 
Thought he was great today. Received the ball is some dodgy positions but had his head on a swivel and just turned into space and passed. So reliable.
 
One of our most important players but don’t agree that he was brilliant today….too many casual/careless passes that leave us vulnerable to the break……Rodri more than most has suffered from the Phillips injury and not being able to be rested.
 
Very similar to de Bruyne, some poor passes or poor choices of passes at times but he was excellent at breaking up play and his positional play to cut off lanes was good. Tan well with the ball n’all.
 
How the fuck has he not got a mention yet. His positioning today was unreal, he was playing 2 entirely different positions in and out of possession and was exceptional in both. Sort of maestro performance you needed to be in the ground to see just how good he was.
 
Just come on to look at player performance threads and only three posts is a travesty! Agree with everything above.

Rodri is one of the five best players in the Premier League IMO.
 
He does not get mentioned as he glues everything we do together. Nothing flashy just always in the right place at the right time or plays the right pass at the right time. I think 1 of 3 players in this team that walk into a world 11 - him, KDB and Haaland
