Rodri was very good apart from those two aberrations in the first half. We are so much more potent in attack and strong in the middle and the back with him.

He looked knackered today but we cannot afford to rest him , big games coming thick and fast so he starts every game and as we are not free scoring and putting games to bed he has to play 90 minutes ,we look better with Kovacic alongside him taking some of the strain , we look more solid with two midfield anchors.

All comps he is up to 65 games unbeaten in a City shirt. It could be a record for top flight football. More research needed..

In the Premier League after today he is up to 44 games unbeaten. (In an earlier post I thought today was his 38th but I misread an Athletic graph). I'll check but 44 games is probably not a record as Arsenal (49) and Liverpool (44) have long unbeaten records.

The first 38 games of those 44 unbeaten games were for W31 D7 L0 and 100 points. Not bad - an invincible centurion :)

Reported today (albeit the Mirror) we want to offer Rodri a extension and wage increase although he still has 3 years left. Headline reads "keep Rodri at City for life"

Assuming he stays for most of his career he'll be top 3 minimum.
His peak is up there with Silva, De Bruyne and Aguero.

He said in a radio interview after Villa that he feels fit, so fingers crossed.

I like him an Kova together and hope we see that in Madrid, although we may see Bernardo next to Rodders and Kev, Phil, Erling and Jack as the frontline.
