Would be very happy to see him in the stands for the our last match.

You could see he was terrified of going in to any challenge with conviction tonight, which makes complete sense (I would be, too), and I would rather give him a bit more time before he inevitably returns for the CWC.

He’s just to important to our future to put him at risk of some lazy tackle from a Fulham player like we saw from Cook on Nico.

Can’t wrap him up in cotton wool forever though, if he’s match fit get him in Sunday I say, and we won’t lose that game , can always pull him off after an hour or so if needs be, once we 2-0 up that is!

There was a moment towards the end when he picked the ball up just inside our half, held off a challenge from a Bournemouth lad who couldn't get round him to nick it, and then just passed it off to Nunes and jogged back into position. Good god we've missed that composure.

Corrected for accuracy

I must have missed that.

I'm not sure we needed him on there tonight, but he has to get minutes somewhere, or he'll never play again.
I didn’t say not to ever play him again, just not on Sunday. Let him ease back in at the glorified friendly tournament, where players are much less likely to be going studs (or elbows) first in to challenges.

And he was definitely not his assertive self in the tackle; many of us noted that in the match thread.

Don't want to see him play against Fulham, certainly don't want to see him play in the Mickey Mouse Cup.

Put him in cotton wool and build him up more over the off season, a few friendlies should be enough. He's far too important for us to be risked.

The players like that tournament and want to win it.

Rodri is ready. He isn't terrified, just cautious. He's looking better than I expected. He will start games in the CWC.

I think it was very much a case of being 2/3 nil up and not wanting to do anything silly

Him actually just being back out on the pitch is so much more beneficial to his mental state than how he actually performs whilst on the pitch; the first hurdle is over now and he can and will build on that

If he comes back 90% of the player he was then we are laughing, but personally I think he'll get to the level he was at by the end of this year, he's just got that mentality and that's why I think he should be captain

His return next season alone will make us 40% better. Foden surely won't be as shit again. The likes of Marmoush and Savinho should be better having had some Premier League games behind them and knowing what the league is about. Get 5 or 6 players out, bring in 2 or 3 quality signings, and we'll be back.

Give the man a new contract now
Next season when he is running the show Madrid rumours will start
He will immediately raise this team

I don’t want to do hyperbole and overstate a small thing…but, at 0.24 in this video a ball is played through the lines of our midfield and that’s been an issue all season.

But Rodri anticipates it immediately and suffocates the bloke meaning he can’t get a proper run at Dias and the defence - which is an area we’ve struggled with since he got injured. It’s something so small but also something we’ve not really been doing all season.

I think he was on the verge of signing one before the injury then it was put on hold until he got back, understandably.

I’d love to see him tied down to a similar deal Haaland has but for 7/8 years into his mid-30s.

Although, I can’t see why he’d want to go to Madrid given their embarrassing charade at his big, Ballon d’Or night.
