He's a weird player because the amount of times he gives a ball away is frustrating but then he'll still whip out 3 or 4 ridiculous balls per match.

The comparison won't be warmly appreciated here but he's like Cristiano Ronaldo but for assists.

Nah I think at this point of the season he couldn't care less if he lost the ball 40 times, he just wants those assists. Who can blame him lol

I’d have thought assist. It’s not a law that you have to shoot a penalty. It’s just pretty dumb not to.

It would absolutely be an assist.

Missed penalty is a secondary stat if the penalty is played directly on goal. A penalty is technically just an incredibly advantageous direct free kick for stat purposes.

To be fair, if his teammates had scored about 10% more of the great chances he set up earlier in the season he would have already clinched the record before the pandemic break. ;-)
