He's a weird player because the amount of times he gives a ball away is frustrating but then he'll still whip out 3 or 4 ridiculous balls per match.

The comparison won't be warmly appreciated here but he's like Cristiano Ronaldo but for assists.

Apples and oranges.

It takes a lot to get a teammate through a 7 man defensive line. Oftentimes the assist is more difficult than putting that ball into the net.

He attempts so many high risk/high reward passes that he's bound to give the ball away multiple times a game; Kevin himself has said this multiple times before

It's his job to take risks with the ball. It's not been paying off for him the last few games but you can't understimate the standard he sets for the team with his energy. At 4-0 around the 90th minute he's still sprinting back at full speed and sliding in to win the ball back.

He doesn't go hiding when things aren't going his way.

I thought his passing was way off but the effort and drive was there. The passing seemed to be him trying to force it. Hopefully he dials back in for the weekend and Madrid

An incredible player. We're so used to him making those tough passes time and time again that when he doesn't quite get the right, or gives the ball away attempting to slice through the opposition, we judge him harshly. The fact is, if he didn't attempt those passes, we'd just go sideways and the opportunities would be lost. He's a genius of a footballer and rather the "dip" now than in the CL. He has time to get back to form for that competition. One more assist to draw with Henry, two to break the record. Norwich at home to play. I hope Pep gives him the chance.
