Moment of genius in an otherwise average display.

Obviously the difference though....and deservedly MOTM.
Average? Even without his goal, he was the best on the pitch and produced our best chances: his shooting, Rodri's header alone after an excellent cross, Bernardo shoot after a wonderful back pass, counterattack with a wonderful cross that Gundo barely missed at the end, 1v1 to Alvarez(it was onside). Also, he ran a lot and continuously pressed

I see you comment a lot here (mostly negative of course), so let me ask. Who creates more than KDB in this team (especially in close matches)? Why do players always look for him when the match is close? If today was an average performance, then how do you rate everyone else that created way less that KDB? What does he need to do to not have an average performance in your opinion? Do you have a completely different way to measure his performances with respect to his teammates? Because that's the only possible explanation I can think of.

I judge him to a higher standard because he is capable of such,so when those standards aren't reached I react and comment accordingly. That may be unfair criticism to some, but it's how I see things.

Yes he does wonderful things,he wins games and takes ykur breath away at times...but there is a flip and people like yourself never comment on such....the misplaced balls, the poor crosses, the inability to retain possession or losing more 50/50 balls than he wins....all these things happen amongst the magic, not my fault if you refuse to recognise it.

He completed 85% of the passes, that's incredibly high for how much risks he takes. No one in the team takes risks like KDB, it's obvious that he's asked to do that because he is by far the best in the team with his creativity and passing. Poor crosses? Sure you want us to pass the ball back again for the 20th time and recycle the play then? 50/50 balls, again he takes the risks especially when we have the possibility of a counterattack, and according to data Foden, Cancelo and Bernardo have lost more balls for our team than KDB.

Why should we care that he takes crazy risks in the last 25 yards? If it goes well, it creates a goal chance, if it goes bad then we should have a minimum of 5 players behind. If KDB creates 6 good chances and loses 2 balls that creates us danger, then it's still an incredibly ratio that I and any manager in the world would take. That means if we are more clinical, we should score 3 times more than the other team.

Personally thought it was a good showing from him even without the free kick.
Statistically, he should be regarded as one of the best midfielders in PL history. Maybe even the best.
I think he is certainly the most talented PL midfielder I've ever seen. People let longevity cloud their mindsets though. Stick a red shirt on KDB and he'd already be considered a shoe-in for best ever PL XI.

You either don't understand his playing style, or, don't rate him to be in our starting line up. When you compliment him, the few times you are, it's always conditional. It's as if you regret he's in our team. I think you'll be enjoyIng watching City much more after he leaves. In a few years you'll have your wish.

Meantime, he's building a legacy that will get him his much deserved statue.

I would even say he is arguably the best PL player ever.

I cant be any clearer.....i love the player,he is up there with our all time very best.....but (much like Cancelo) there is a pay off with aspects of his game, which has become more apparent now he is in his 30's,that we have to cater for.

Do i think we can put a more cohesive 11 on the pitch without him? yes.

Do i think that limits our chance of a moment of magic,or a match winning moment of brilliance? yes.
