As much as I would've loved Kevin to win the World Cup and cement his legacy as one of the greats, Belgium obviously aren't winning this tournament. The best thing that can happen from a City perspective is they lose against Croatia so he can have a few weeks off and be raring to go for the second half of the season.

Vertonghen made a snide comment about Kev. But Vertonghen himself epitomises everything wrong about Belgium. He's a 35-year old has-been whose biggest success of any note was being runner up in the CL and League Cup with Spurs. He's not fit to lace Kev's boots.

The whole team have been poor, so not really fair to single him out.

If players don't move or position themselves to receive the ball he can't be expected to find them.

I don't think they will beat Croatia ans so he will be back home soon and resting until the PL starts again.
