Needs to get back and get it out of his system. He stank the place out to be honest, hoping it was more to do with the atmosphere and not getting on with team as much as anything

I think it's actually a good job for us that he looked at his team mates and thought why should I run my blood to water when this lot are not good enough to get any further anyway. Compare that to certain times when he has single handedly won us games by driving forward with pace and power. Of course a lot will say he's going to decline but we, as City fans know much better. Kev is a serial winner and perhaps his only fault is he doesn't seem to tolerate paying alongside bang average players.

Witsel and the ex-Spurs defenders looked so bad in all 3 games - every time Kev made a run into space he was ignored - for us we have such quality all over the field that he has the ball at his feet much more and with space to work. Today he still put in two perfect passes to strikers that quite frankly were shite - both great chances didn't even work the keeper. Martinez is clueless preferring ageing players and only when he put on Doku did they have energy. As I said glad he has a bit of a rest for a real tilt at even more club honours.

I think he proper appreciates how good city are? His comments regarding not being able to play like us as they don’t have the players was a huge public statement imo.
 
We need to see KDB retire from the International game, and for me he needs to.

He clearly did not want to be in Qatar, his performances were terrible for such a talent.

The guy has played so many games since he joined us and is looking wrecked physically, giving up the International games will help considerably and probably add a year or two on to his top flight domestic career.

At least he has a nice 3 and a half week break now. Send him on holiday for 2 weeks and let him just relax. He's not injured, recover and relax somewhere, back the week before xmas with the rest of them hopefully refreshed and over that shit show of a world cup.
 
He switched on in the second half yesterday and did enough to win the game if Lukaku wasnt such a donkey. Prior to that he had been playing far too far forward, something he also did in the other two games. I can only think this was a Martinez tactic as it effectively marginalised Kevin.

When I read the Guardian article I did think he would be called out for what he said about Belgium. It was true but it wasn't smart. I hope he retires from international football. He certainly didn't look like he was enjoying it.
 
Needs to retire from international football and hopefully hazard retiring will encourage and not discourage him in doing that. He said himself their team's too old, so they won't be winning anything any time soon, and his body is looking increasingly more fragile. Made signs that mentally he is tired too and needs a break
 
Agree with those suggesting KDB retire from International football. He has a young family, a club where he is idolised and will undoubtedly finish with us as a legend (statue incoming). He can prolong his career, learn more from Pep on coaching techniques and then move seamlessly onto his managerial career. Feel like an announcement will follow soon and we will benefit from the free time he will be afforded during International breaks.
