1894 Singing Section: Fulham (H)

Yet those are 3 songs that people criticise SS1 for singing instead of the “classics”
You’ve missed out the context or missed the whole point there though.

They (and it was only ever ‘Gerrard slipped’ and ‘follow follow follow’ from my recollection, because the other two chants you mentioned have loud long bits that can be heard around the ground more clearly) were only every criticised when they kept being sung when the team needed a lift in a game we were struggling in and they never took off around the ground because they are quiet songs when sung next to away fans making a racket and not everyone knew them and weren’t chants that were joined in with around the whole stadium. Whereas there were some games where no classics were being sung at all.

Nobody doesn’t want certain chants being sung; it’s the when, why and need that were always raised.

Up in SSL3 all those chants will get a good outing and will be joined in with up there because they already do and they work up there better because that area can compete with away fans for volume.

Can we try and refrain from making this a SSL3 v SSL1 argument.

We’re all blues and we all want the same outcome (a brilliant atmosphere week in week out at the Etihad).

Both areas are generally pretty good and vocal.

Let’s see how this trial goes and weigh up if it was successful or not afterwards. One thing is for certain, having 100+ singers bunching in with those making a racket already should definitely help.

Trial run for the new stand? ;)

We need to find 700 hsospitality fans to sit at the front of the block, and 50 ambulant fans to sit behind them first, then we can trial the new NS out properly. ;-) Danny Wilson can be the Capo.

Fully support 1894 in everything they do, but unsure as to why this is being ‘trialled’. The atmosphere in South Level 3 is brilliant nearly every game, often starting many of the chants that travel around the ground, so unsure why the move is to improve the atmosphere up there over other areas of the ground (apart from the fact that it’s the only area of the ground available due to the returned tickets).

1894 have only ever organised singing sections in level 1 (whether that’s at the Etihad or Wembley).

This trial is simply to see how effective a singing section would be higher up in the stands.

It’s not a dig at those trying to generate an atmosphere in level 3. It’s literally just a good opportunity to try relocating more singers higher up.

Fair enough. With the current atmosphere up there already being very good, I am sure it will be a success. Replicating it in the new North Stand may bring its complications though due to the allocation of season tickets and having to bring different groups of singing sections together. Good luck with it all.
