I think the problem you have as a 'group' is lack of organisation.
If you were able to create a better organisational structure to your group, you would achieve better results and would be taken more seriously by the club.

That's my outsiders point of view

Out of interest what are you basing that statement on?

I'm basing it on the fact that they don't seem to have a 'leader' or people with specific roles within the group / leadership structure and the club won't or are reluctant to converse with them on a serious basis, which to me suggests the club don't take them seriously. Should just be 1 member who deals with the club for a start.

Does everyone know who the people involved are?
Does everyone know how to donate money?
Does everyone know how to purchase merchandise from them?
How are the media made aware of what is going on?
When/how were fans asked about what should be done?
How are new members attracted?
What is done during the match (when it matters) to improve atmosphere, other than starting songs and hoping that others join in...what happens when they don't?
What are their short/medium/long term aims and how are other made aware of these?

As I said, that is my view as a complete outsider and could be completely wrong.

completely wrong you are mate. and completely naive too

theyve been going for a year and a half if anyone wanted to join or get involved theres been ample opportunity. they are doing a display at the ground early on sunday why not see how poor they are then (it involves getting out of bed early though)

someone or others plan displays
others find ways of raising money
others purchase the materials
others plan design artwork etc
some people meet the club
some do the social media twitter facebook
others sell badges scarves flags

they had a board on here at the start. anyone could have got involved with them

I agree with the points put forward, and I might add that I have nothing but admiration for the hard work this group puts in, it's appreciated long may they continue

just out of interest how many members do you have ??

btw it does come across as if your gonna pack it in if it doesn't improve. Keep going !!! "we are getting to the stage where we have gone as far as we can " it feels like you only just started tbh and i think one thing that will help you is if the membership numbers grow.

another one ! why have you not tried to join at any point. why make the same points over and over again every week on here and do nothing about it ? just a question. if everyone got involved you'd find people could achieve a lot more a lot sooner

An ideal scenario would be for the 1894 group to become more visible. I must admit that the 1894 App is great and I suspect many fans don't even know this exists. Also I suspect that if some kind of discounted Seasoncard for the soon to be vacated South Stand Away areas could be arranged for any 1894 members I suspect your numbers would escalate rapidly. £400 adults for adults would be ideal for the noisy types you'd need.

Personally I would concentrate on one fundemantal aim and minimise the flags and displays. Yes they look good, however they are gone in an instant and 95% crowd think the club organised them!

Set you sights on completely claiming that South Stand for City Fans and get the away fans up and out of sight.
I hope you can keep going in your efforts.

in terms of 'being visible' whenever you try to do something you'll get criticism just for the sake of it. keeping it low key at first was the complete opppsite tactic to the blue alliance (yes remember them) whose popularity waned very quickly. that was an organisation that lacked any structure. 1894 have 110 members but they are dotted around the stadium. not all in one bit.

theres a core of 7-8 who do most of the work. others have dipped in and out and decided they can't be arsed because it's too much like hard work.

it's a commitment thing. well known faces who are in it for the long term. if the wrong people infiltrate or get involved it doesn't even get off the ground.

there's plenty of co-operation between the club and the group. not at khaldoon level. and the group can't determine club policy. but they do get listened to. they work with the official mcfcsc who hadn't tried to tackle the atmosphere issue before and the press obviously rates them enough to quote them. up to blues to back them. if we can secure a section linking the 2 groups up either side of the aways it can be like palace.

No I am not naive. I know what they do - if you notice My username you will see that I would be hard pushed to not see what they have done.
If you bothered to read the whole thread you would see clearly what my intentions were, just like the 1894 members did.
You carry on going on about what they have already done and I will carry on looking at what could/should be done to make it better. Which do you think is most useful?

ermm ok then. I dont go regularly anymore so would be hard for me to join really. There is a thread on a forum so I decided to voice my opinion on the matter, whats wrong with that. I sing as much as possible when i do go, like i will be against newcastle. not everyone can get involved though, so they use things like blue moon to say what they think

btw i only a asked a few basic questions to try and learn more about the group and add to the discussion

you might be in 117 but that doesnt mean you know what they are doing or how the structure operates. basically what they are saying is that they can carry on doing displays with singers in various parts of the ground (and they will carry on) but results will never be as good as putting a new block of singers in 115 linking up people from 109 to 119. its different to other relocations. no one has to move. time is running out so why not flex muscles and do it through the press. people are discussing it at length today so perhaps theyre a bit more organised than you give them credit for. anyway hope you end up joining. i am a member and donate to them.

mate I really want the group to be a success and will be joining in as much as possible tomorrow night with them, hopefully the club start to listen and we can get a block full of singers

I cant get to my seat early. I time my pre kick off, post pints piss to perfection and nothing is going to change that routine.

Personally the atmosphere doesn't bother me. I think it's just the way it's gone over the years both with us and with others. Good luck with it though.
